4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 drinkbeer (281) - Redondo Beach, USA - DEC 22, 2011
This is just a great beer collaboration from some great brewing companies, and it is my favorite from 21st amendment. There is nothing there beer does wrong. Let’s start first with the color. It’s perfect. Yes I gave appearance a 5/5. It’s the most perfect dark copper color you ever did see. OK. next up is the taste. It’s amazing. Sweet and hoppy and warm with alcohol. It makes me happy. Lastly, the packaging is awesome. This matters. Buy a couple cubes and stick a red bow on the top. Makes a great christmas gift. Share the gift of good beer this holiday season.

Pour from a can has a dark amberish color with a medium beige head. Roasty nose with a little alcohol, spice and and a hint of dark fruit. Taste is malty and then woody, nutty with some hop bitterness and some zest. Palate is fairly smooth with a nice carbonation and easy to drink, pretty good brew.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ROGUE (1360) - Newark, Delaware, USA - MAY 27, 2012
On tap and 12oz can. Poured a dark amber color with a one finger light tan head with good retention. Aroma is roasty, nutty, toffee, stale hops, and a little booze. Malty and slightly sweet, with dates, caramel and bready malts at first. Orange zest with some floral hops, followed by a pine bitterness that lingers for awhile. Very slight alcohol burn through the finnish. Creamy mouthfeel, with moderate to high carbonation.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 polomagnifico (940) - Saginaw, Michigan, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Can from wchesser, thanks Will! Aroma has notes of toasted malts, sweet dried fruits, toffee and citrus hops. Dark hazy brown hue with an off-white head that mostly diminished and left some lace. Taste is very sweet and med bitter. Palate is full bodied and watery soft. Overall a very good and drinkable brew.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 wxman (961) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Pours a dark amber with a reasonable light tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and raisins. Taste is sweet roasted malt, dark dried fruit, molasses, caramel and an assertive hop bitterness. Some citrusy notes as well. Robust and flavorful, but a bit too hoppy for this aging hophead. Well balanced.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 ACHops (35) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 18, 2012
On tap @ Super Deli Mart. Pours dark chestnut with a thin lacey head. Light spice and cloves on the nose. Chewy malt flavor with oak, spice, and punchy hops. This would be a cool one to age a couple years. How does that work with cans? I think this is my first date beer. Love both of these breweries, so my expectations are pretty high I guess. The marketing and packaging are cool with this one too, even by 21st standards.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 60minuteman (155) - West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 10, 2012
Mahogany pour with light tan head. Aroma of spices, dates, figs and burnt malt. Taste is roughly the same with the addition of honey. Frothy and carbonated...almost overly so. Still delicious.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 MadRobin (176) - Silver Spring, USA - MAY 5, 2012
Poured from 12 ounce can.
A red-orange brown that's dark enough to be more translucent than clear. The pour produces a massive tan head that settles fairly quickly to leave a thin film and mass tons of beautiful lacing.
Aroma of Brown sugar, dark fruits, dates, caramel, pine and a little citrus.
Sweet taste with dark fruits, dates, brown sugar, caramel, toffee, pine and light citrus. Finishes with resinous pine hops.
Medium/full body and soft carbonation with a delightfully smooth mouthfeel.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ericandersnavy (2351) - Denton, Texas, USA - MAY 5, 2012
Can thanks to bhensonb. Poured dark amber with an off white head. Aroma and flavor were dark fruits, grain, and caramel. Body was medium with frothy carbonation.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 CincyBeercat (17) - Ohio, USA - MAY 1, 2012
Beautiful garnet pour with a khaki, fluffy head that fades, leaving a thin layer and minimal lacing.
Aroma of malt and dark fruit, maybe cherry with a hint of hops.
Taste is very well balanced. Starts with a slight sweetness and then the earthy malt kicks in before fading to a nice, mild bitterness.
Overall, I really like this beer. It’s not as bitter as the IPA and IIPAs that I normally drink, but I think that’s a good thing as I try to expand my horizons. The balance really hides the substantial ABV, which could be dangerous! :)
