COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Samuel Adams Boston Lager® is the best example of the fundamental characteristics of a great beer, offering a full, rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. It is brewed using a decoction mash, a time consuming, traditional four vessel brewing process discarded by many contemporary brewers. This process brings forth a rich sweetness from the malt that makes it well worth the effort. Samuel Adams Boston Lager® also uses only the finest of ingredients including two row barley, as well as German Noble aroma hops. The exclusive use of two row barley not only imparts a full, smooth body but also gives the beer a wide spectrum of malt flavor ranging from slightly sweet to caramel to slightly roasted. The Noble hops varieties, Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger, add a wide range of floral, piney and citrus notes, which are present from the aroma, through the flavor, to the lingering smooth finish. We take great pride in the Noble hops used in our beers. They are hand selected by Jim Koch and our other brewers from the world’s oldest hops growing area. Among the world’s most expensive, they cost twenty times as much as other hops.

One of the best out there, always available and so much better (esp for the price) than the bigger macro produced lagers; for 8.99 it’s a bargain, very good, dependable brew

Respect. Sam Adams must have a patriot and beer lover. This is now a pretty big craft beer by sale volume. It's very drinkable. Respect the pioneers! -- raided in the wild, via Beer Buddy app

Bottle. Clear copper colour with beige cramy head. Very nice aroma with excellent combination of hops and caramel malts. There is also some brown sugar and honey notes in it. Beer is marked as a lager, but it seems more like ale to me. Very drinkable and refreshing with excellent balance.

Good lager. The aroma is very bready with skme grain and sweet malt notes and a light floral hop presence. The beer is amber with white to cream head. The taste mirrors the aromas. The beer is clean and refreshing.

This is the daddy of all lagers and arguably has more characteristics of a light ale rather than a typical lager; sporting a deep and fulsome body with a rich flavour and deep colour. This is beautiful golden lager with an actively carbonated body and a sweet, rich, soft but bitter taste, it does however leaves quite a light after taste. Overall a very good beer with a fulsome flavour and body!

355ml bottle. a great malt sweetness, which is a bit unusual for a lager but is great, balanced off with a nice refreshing hop finish.

Pours a light amber orange color with some head. Aroma is light caramel malt with some hay, pine, and earthiness. The taste is great for a standard lager. Somewhat sweet malt mixed with the dry earthiness of the hops. My favorite mass produced lager by far. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
