An Imperial Blonde Ale or Blonde Barley Wine; Helldorado has the lightest color of any of the beers in our barrel program but carries a great deal of interesting barrel character: vanilla, light char and amazing lavender-honey notes. Rich boozy honey liqueur character and loads of smooth sweet toasted malt to finish. The El Dorado hops dance in the background without playing a dominant role in the flavor profile. This beer gets better and better the longer it is in barrel.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2013 So, I have not rated a beer in a long time, but I have found my new favorite beer. Clear golden, dark fruits, vanilla, citrus hops, little toffee, little white grape.

Pours a clear golden brown on tap with thin ring of off-white head that leaves light lace. Aroma of big sweet bourbon and vanilla notes with a touch of earth. Taste follows, but an interesting fruitiness on the back end. Booze is big, but not over the top, really quite drinkable for the percentage. Amazing.

Draught > Flying Saucer. Boozy nose. Pretty damn good and smooth for 13.2ABV. I don't detect any of the bullshit floral flavors that the deScription says. I get some vanilla and certainly the booziness. Wish it were hoppier.
