Bright yellowish/orange tinged pour, white head. Loads of vanilla, freshly emptied oak barrels, some bitterness on the finish. Quite tasty, the hops add lots of flavor with the caramel notes. WINNER.

Pours a light orange color. Really slick on the tongue. I don’t know if I like this particular hop as of yet but the mix of blonde characters amped up to barleywine strength really works.

On tap. Pours with a massive white head over a hazy blonde-yellow hued body. Aromas are spicy, toasted oak, vanilla, marshmallow, light hops, grainy, bready, biscuity and malty. Flavors are fruity, calvados like, sulfur, bitter, grainy, fruit, barrel and some crazy oak tannins and vanilla. Fuller carbonation, low body for the ABV.

Draft at Angel’s Trumpet. FW mini tap-takeover. Clear golden color w/ small, creamy white head. Nice lacing. Sweet upfront- vanilla, light fruits. Earthy, bitter hops on the end. Dry finish.

Hazy golden orange pour with a white head. Really intense fruit aroma, particularly tropical fruits and melon. A hint of apple, some pine, sugar, and notes of vanilla. The flavor is quite fruit forward as well. Pineapple, melon, and some mango. There is a pleasant sweetness of sugar, vanilla, and white grape juice. Subtle alcohol and pine on the finish.

Nice, slightly different take in the Barleywine style. Subtle nose, soft, hoppy and vanilla flavors come through strongly.

On tap at XVI Celebration, multiple samples.

Appearance: Pours a bright amber gold. White film and edges.

Aroma: Citrusy hop, honey, fruit punch.

Taste: Toasty malt, euro hops, banana esters, vanilla.

Mouthfeel: Astringent, medium bodied, low carb.

Oveerall: A really odd barley wine. Didn’t get much barrel either. Doesn’t make it south often, so glad I could try it.
