Received in a trade but I forget who was awesome enough to send me this bottle. I’ll update if I remember. Either way, thanks alot! This bottle was shared with AndyReynolds and Ewestern.
I had read many mixed reviews before acquiring this bottle, so I wasn’t too sure what to expect going into it. However, it took nothing more than the first sip to shatter the idea of any negativity surrounding this brew. Pretty much straight up awesome in every aspect. The combination of the four base stouts really lends to a unique complexity. I know it doesn’t contain any Kate the Great, but as I drank my glass, that’s what it really reminded me of. It seemed to have a lot of that chocolate graham cracker and roasted malt quality that I remember from my KtG sample a few years ago.

I fell victim to the hype and love this beer.

Nearly a 6 year old beer at this point. Pours a deep black brown. No head. Aromas of chocolate, fudge, dark fruits. Sweet with slight oxidation. Thick mouthfeel. Pretty good for its age.

Bottle from a trade. Pours heavy black with a tan head. Sweet with lots of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. I think the individual beers are all better.

koleminer20 (1489) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUN 21, 2015
22 oz bottle shared with ebone1988. The pour is light. It fills the glass with a medium black with some ruby poking around the edges. The dark tan head sits thickly on top with a nice lace left behind. The aroma is a big chocolate malt bomb, with a touch of roast. There is an excellent complexity with lighter dark fruit notes and a bit of hop that would be from the Beer Geek Brunch. There is just a hint of alcohol on the back end. The flavor is better than it smells. There is an excellent roastiness to carry the chocolate malts and the dark fruits bring back a bit of sweetness. The alcohol really smashes you in the face, er, mouth, on the back end. The mouth feel is thick and viscous, beautifully carbonated, with a lingeringly bitter, really bitter aftertaste. This is very well done ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared with koleminer20. Aroma is unbelievable, sweet malt, licorice, milk chocolate, amazing. Appearance poured light, otherwise black with a brown head. Taste is robust, sweet milk chocolate fades to dark fruit, fades to robust roasted malt and booze. Mouthfeel is thick as fuck, oily, great carbonation, and boozy aftertaste. Overall, this is incredibly complex and lovely.
