First sip lives up to the name, matching definite cherry with definite chili pepper. Sweetness of honey and smoky pepper back it up, with a slightly tart but still sweet finish and a slight chili pepper heat accompanying it. The chipotle just adds so much depth to this. Really, really ridiculously tasty.

Pours a deep dark red. Aroma of cherries, slight peppers and oak. Taste is sweet and tart cherries and then smoke and heat from the peppers. The heat hangs on in the back of your throat. Very tasty with a lot going on

Chilled blue bottle at JStax mead birthday tasting poured into a snifter. Pours translucent red and medium body. Taste is cherry and finishes with some chipotle. Surprised I liked this so much.

Bottle at home. Thanks Ramy! Deep ruby red with practically no head. Lots and lots of cherreis, honey and a bit smoke. Taste is sweet and tart with huge amounts of cherries with a spicy aftertaste. Very odd, but pretty good.

Pours a red wine-like color. Aroma is cherry, adobo, and spice. Taste is sweet and spicy with a nice little kick. Medium bodied and slick. Interesting and good.

Bottle from trade with umich03jm. Pours a clear reddish-megenta color. Aroma is sweet cherry juice and light alcohol. Taste is upfront chile burn and sweet cherries through the whole experience. Finish lingers far longer than I would have expected. Wow, the brewer didn’t mess around with the chiles. Takes a pair to brew with this much heat, but I like it. Really interesting and unique. Need more of this to share with friends.

WOW! this a flavor explosion nice tart cherries dominate with pepper heat at the back end. The sweetness of the mead compliments wonderfully. Really glad I tried this one. Amazing stuff.

Bottle from Hopcat: Pours a bright, still ruby color...nose is fairly subtle with the cherry juice and honey shining through. The chipotle is present but is very subdued. Flavor is a blast of tart cherries up front followed by the smokiness of the chipotle...finishes with the sweetness from the honey and leaves lingering heat after it’s gone. Unbelievable

Bottle. Aroma has notes of sour cherries, smoke, peppers and herbs. Very dark ruby hue. Flavor is very sweet and lightly sour. Palate is full bodied and oily. Overall a wonderful mead with tart cherries and a nice chipotle burn. No hint of that 12.5% abv. Loved it.

Bottle shared with paul and brendan. Pours a dark cherry body with no head or lacing. Aroma is full of rich cherries, peppers, honey and light vanilla extract. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of dark cherry, light cherry pie, chili peppers, honey and spice.
