Draught at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Pours black with a brown head. Smells amazingly of chocolate, coffee, bourbon, malt. Tastes of a heavy sweet, medium bitter. A well balanced creamy stout. Full bodied, soft carbonation, creamy texture. Simply lovely.

Bottle @ The HUGE Tasting. The pours’ deep brown with a small head. The nose is rich chocolate, some chili pepper. Roasted malts, coffee. The taste is of cocoa, dark chocolate. A hint of chili heat. Full body, oily. Rich. A little less dynamic than other tracks in the series.

Mega Tasting at Bruce’s pad. As ’Track #10’. Opaque dark brown beer with a small pale tan head. Palate is softish and semi dry. Fine carbonation. Rich dark chocolate, little coffee. Light bourbon and tangy dark fruits. Coffee becomes earthy before tge semi dry finish. Very nice.

Bottle shared at the BIG Friday tasting, massive thanks to our Ken for sharing the entire track set and also to Bruce for providing the accompanying music 03/01/14. This one labelled as "Lost Abbey Track #10 - Bat Out Of Hell. Thanks again to Ken for some old time music history relating to this one. Pitch black with a moderately appointed dirty tan covering that thins to spotting and edgework. Nose is green pepper, mineral tones, booze, earthy cocoa, spice, dark malts, light roast, rich dark chocolate. Taste comprises rich chocolate, light spice, coffee notes, toffee fudge, chocolate cake mix, boozey bourbon twang. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light booze and spice in a drying closure. Nice impy, well balanced, alocohol well integrated.

The taste is cocoa, big coffee aspect, rich roast, treacle, liquorice, warming alcohol, some acidity, mild chilli and burnt toffee with a bitter-sweet finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Slick and balanced. Nice work.

Bottle shared during the Track Set interval of the Brokeback Revisited tasting in London. Cheers Kenny! Geez Meat Loaf... Pours very deep brown with ruby edges and a very tight rim of tan around the sides. Nose is chock full of dark, bitter cocoa, dark chocolate, big espresso, very ashy and spice driven with pepper. In your face bitterness. Taste is balanced bitter-sweet dark chocolate, plenty of fresh pressed coffee, loads of spice. Very bitter on the finish. The coffee is the winner here. Some cinnamon and coconut on the finish. Probably a little too coffee forward for me. Very good nonetheless

Leighton (9847) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2014
Bottle shared in London during the Track Set portion of the Brokeback Revisited tasting. Paired with Meat Loaf. Thanks to Ken, pours somewhat clear, deep black-brown with a weak, off-white cream head. Lots of baking cocoa in the nose espresso, well roasted malts. Medium sweet flavor with tons of charred malts, rich bittersweet chocolate, coffee grounds, burnt toffee. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Rich finish, lots of oily chocolate, more hefty coffee, baking cocoa, figs, burnt bread, chocolate cake. Delicious. Well balanced. Excellent musical pairing,

This owns. The coffee still remains. The cacao is a bit less notable but it’s a damn tasty beer. A bit heavy, and sweet, but I’d recommend anyone who likes their earthy coffee beers pick this bad boy up. Thanks David.
