4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Enjoyed via a bottle from 1st Street Liquor in St. Paul, Minnesota. Pours a cloudy gold with a lacy white head. The aroma is effervescent and sour with hints of tangerine and biscuits. The taste is tingly on the tongue and tastes like a honey biscuit with tart marmalade. The texture is like melted butter and silky smooth on the finish with a sweet and sour aftertaste. Hints of rhubarb. Very easy drinking for 10% and just delicious.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Majority of a 25.4 oz. bottle, consumed on 1-1-16. The cork exploded off upon opening the cage, and I lost an ounce or two of beer to overflow. Thatís an automatic minus 1 point from the overall score. Pours a dark gold with moderate to high effervescence. Clear in the initial pour, hazy in the final pour. Large amount of short-lasting, cream-colored head. Too much head. Otherwise looks good. Fresh, yeasty, vegetal smell. Features scents of champagne, salty tartness, rose petals, and perhaps rotting vegetables. Reminds me of a gose in smell. Tart, dirt or soil-like flavor. Vegetal bitterness atop a lightly sweet base. Flavor of blood or iron. Honey becomes more evident upon multiple sips. Dry, dirt-like finish. I know the tartness is coming from the rhubarb, but I donít necessarily specifically get rhubarb. Frothy in the palate. Iím underwhelmed. Disappointing. It does improve upon multiple sips. I really like most of what Olvalde has brewed, but I canít say I particularly like this one.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled from the tap at ABR 2015. Pours a hazy bright gold with a rhubarb hue with an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice rhubarb note with some sweet grain and dry/flora honey. Flavor has tart rhubarb with sweet grains and a light grass note.

, I got the bottom, so this review will be a little skewed. i did have a sip of someone elseís to compare. Hazy yellow, low carbonation, abv quite well hidden. You can definitely pick out the honey and rhubarb, and there is a lightly sour aspect to the aroma and flavor as well. Unique brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle shared by huhzubendah, thanks Matt. Pours a translucent orange color with single bubbles lining the rim. Aroma is nice: Brett and lacto notes give the illusion of this being a sour. Grapefruit, rhubarb and mild honey as well. Flavor is solid: grapefruit tang with hint of vegetal rhubarb upfront, honey sweetness along the middle, and tangy strawberry rhubarb pie in the finish. Very sweet, but not unpleasant. Syrupy thin mouthfeel, mild carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a super hazy blonde with practically no head, but whatís there does manage to leave a little bit of lacing on the glass.
The aroma is floral and honey like, not unlike mead in a way. Itís sweet smelling but not overwhelmingly so and has a nice expression of tart fruit.
The flavor is oddly spicy with lots of nice tart rhubarb flavor & some honey sweetness. Nicely fruit forward, bright but at the same time sort of heavy... getís a little happy with alcohol flavor at moments, but I wouldnít say itís hot or boozy.
I sort of think this one would be considerably better if the carbonation was more snappy... not often that a mouthfeel keeps a beer from greatness, but in this case I feel like it needed more liveliness... but itís really really tasty beer.

Bottle sampled at RBSG. From notes. Rhubarb and honey. Medium tart. This is a very good beer. Glad I found one to bring home.
