Bottle from trade with Bierkoning, veel dank. Black color with small beige head. Aroma of dark malt, peat, chcolate, coffee. Taste, milk chcolate, roasted dark malt, licorice, peat, whiskey. Strong alcoholic finish. Delicious.

The beer tastes and has a whiff of smoke, raisins with a sweet combination. A very good beer, though it has a high content of alcohol that I can not feel. Drink it like to dessert.

Pours a black body with a somewhat creamy, light-brown head of moderate size that reduces to a very thin fully lasting layer that laces the glass well. The aroma is strong, burnt and very boozy. At first I thought I got mainly cognac, but after a short while peat and whisky started to come forward, and finally the aroma is rather dominated by peaty whisky. Also some general sour smoke notes, alcohol and light hoppy notes. The taste is moderate sweet and heavy bitter. Very strong flavours of peaty whisky and smoke that effectively drowns most other contributions. I do get some faint traces of something fruity in the back, but I’d liked those element to be more evident. The smoke leaves the throat a bit dry, a kind of snuff like dryness that isn’t that lovely, but otherwise the mouthfeel is close to perfect. The alcohol is very present, but not disturbing. Full bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A bit rough, but still a delicious sipper.

@BBF12. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, peated smoke, chocolate and coffee. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, alcohol, peated smoke and dark fruit.

Pours an average light brown frothy head that mostly diminishes. Body is flat black. Aroma contains roasted and burnt malts, caramel, milk chocolate, mild coffee, grass, orange and lemon, dough, leather, earth, banana, grape, raisin, cask wood, smoke, licorice, alcohol, spices, peat and whiskey. Flavor starts off light acidic and light bitter, to go to sweet and light bitter and to finish peaty and bitter. Body is medium to full with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Less fruity and more peaty than Emelisse standard Russian Imperial Stout. The Ardbeg whiskey brings a nice addition to the flavors but doesn't improve the beer, just changes it.

Svart, mörk brun öl utan skum. Doft: Rök, tjära, korv, stall, amoniak. Smak: Wiskey, tjär pastiler (terva lejona), övermogna rödabär, sirap, vanilj, gräddkola, kanderat apelsinskal, korv, mjölkchoklad, rostade nötter, gul paprika.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2013 33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with some sediment and a small tan head that leaves virtually no lacing. Aroma is iodine, peat, and whiskey. Flavour is iodine, smoke, peat, and whiskey.

Dark, almost black, colored beer with a small head. Smoke dominates the aroma. Flavor is smoked too, some malty sweetness, chocolate and coffee popping up. Some woodnotes too. Smooth bitter sweet finish.
