4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured into a pint glass out of a 22oz bomber.
Pours a slightly hazy medium orange with a half finger white head. Considering the abv, the head retention and lacing are spectacular.
HUGE hit of hops on the nose. Tons of tropical fruit from the Simcoe and Citra hops. There is a touch of caramel underneath along with overripe fruit. There is some dank too. All around, it is one of the best aromas I have ever experienced on a IIPA.
The flavor continues the hops assault with overripe fruit, orange marmalade, and sweet caramel. Mango and orange dominate the fruity aspect and there is a little less dankness compared to the aroma. Vanilla and caramel undertones along with a very assertive bitterness that is necessary to balance out the malt sweetness. Alcohol is nearly completely hidden providing a pleasant warmth in the throat and chest. Quite impressive. Mouthfeel is just slightly sticky.
Overall, one of the best IIPA’s out there. I put this up with Hopslam as being the best IIPA available on the market. Incredible balance and tons of flavor combined with a big punch from the alcohol. A beer to seek out and pick up lots of.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Was happy for Orion to get this for me and share it with him. I like these hops and had high expectations, which weren’t met, and i think i had a similar let down with a couple other knee deeps. so many fine beers being made. Musky aroma with lemon and caramel, good mouth feel, the carbonation and a little oily. mild finish. flavor of toast, caramel, alcohol.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Sensoric. Pale golden with medium, white, semi-densed head. Medicore lacing and poor head retention. The aroma is strong and hoppy - citrus, resin and some floral notes. Taste is medium to high bitter, but at first you can feel some malty sweetness. Medium to full body, oily texture, finish is bitter and short. Medium alcohol warming. In general heavily hopped and oily IPA.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle Matt bought back from Portland! Clear orange-amber with thin white head. Smells of moderate spiced malt, heavy hop, citrus peel/pith, some grapefruit, pear and other fruit. Tastes hugely hoppy, bitter, medium malt with a spicy bready kick, light lemon. Body is oily, slick, doughy chewiness. Really big beer that earns its triple IPA title.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from bottle shop in Portland brought back to HK. Surprisingly clear golden amber pour with minimal glaze of white head. Aroma is sharply hoppy - resin, but more fruit and citrus than the usual super oily/hoppy IIPAs, probably the simcoe and citra hops. Nice. Taste follows - punchy sharp hoppy bitterness, citrus peel, pine resin, and more. Some cereal malts to balance. One of the more drinkable, more tasty very hoppy and oily big IPAs - it's giant but not as impossibly big and oily as others. Would get again.
