COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First brewed in 2002 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Pizza Port location in Solana Beach, we searched high and low and combined 15 of our favorite hops which were added every 15 minutes to the boil. Somewhat darker than other Double IPA style beers, our beer oozes the hop goodness of pine needles, freshly squeezed citrus and ground spices which are only moderately tempered by a sweet malt finish. Thankfully, for all of us hopheads, we have decided to brew this beer more than once a year. Look for Hop 15 to make appearances from time to time when space permits us to brew this, one of our favorite ales.
Alcohol content varies. Spring 2012 batch is 11% ABV.

Bomber pours a cloudy amber with a medium heavy lacing off-white head. A sweet aroma of citrus and peaches, hops, and malts. Taste starts with a sugary sweetness, citrus, followed by a hit of hops and pine and grass. Ends bitter and malty.. Mouth feel is thick and coating compared to most IIPAs.

(bottle). Light orange complexion. Quickly dissipating head. High IBU and big hop flavor with pine, resin and grapefruit qualities. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from De Bierkoning. Pours orange with a small head. Hefty smell of grapes, grapefrukt and spring flowers. Taste is like an explosion of citrus-fruits in your mouth, before some nice toffee and bitterness takes over. Perfectly balanced and really drinkable. For me this is the best DIPA so far - a tad better than Three Floyds Dreadnaught Imperial IPA.

66cl flaska. Nästan orange öl med ett vitt ganska flyktigt skum. Doftar och smakar som en härlig blandning av humle. Tallbarr, citrus, blommighet, tropiska frukter. Söt och lätt klibbig munkänsla. Men man vill att smakerna skall klibba fast i munnen.

Poured into a Duvel tulip from a 650ml bottle bottled on 3-26-2012.

A: Hazy amber/brown body with white yeast sediment floating, thin foamy light tan head. Not very appealing at all, the head looks soapy and the yeast isn’t appealing.

S: Slight turpentine/acetone chemical smell with lots of thick citrus, semi-sweet.

T: Very pungent hop flavor, lots of grapefruit from the start with mildly sweet citrus and a thick sweet malt base. Spicy alcohol warming finish. This is pretty unbalanced and just an assault of hops.<brr>
M: Oily and thick with almost no carbonation.

O: This a hop lovers beer, but the lack of carbonation and the lack of balance in this reminds me of a bad Palate Wrecker.

Bottle @ home. Hazy, tangerine orange appearance with a small, off-white head. Quite fruity (mango, peach, grapefruit, lemon), a touch bitter, sweet malty aroma. Quite delicious, mango/grapefruity, citrusy, a touch bready, slight fusel alcohol, thick flavor. A touch syrupy, thick, sticky mouth feel with a fair amount of booziness. A bit over the top for me, as I didn’t like the booze, the mouth feel, or the head, but it is a fairly tasty brew.

On tap at Gourmet Haus. MASSIVE hops on a beautiful aroma of citrus and flowers. Incredible even if you could only smell it and not have a sip. Hazy deep honey with great full white head and nice lacing. Flavor of citrus and earth floor follow through in a well-balanced beer with bitterness, malt and hop flavor marrie well.

Bottle from Binny’s. Poors golden with a white head. Smell is citrus and floral. Just like any good DIPA this has a great amount of hops. Taste is also citrus with heavy bitterness. This is a really good DIPA but not as good as Hop Slam but close.

$7.99 for a 22 oz. bottle @Table and Vine. Stamp on neck reads 1/26/2012 in yellow lettering. Label states 10% ABV. Deep yellow gold color with lots of sediment particles in a slow poor. Soapy, web like lacing. Sweet malt and citrus hops nose. An explosion of hops flavors. Pick your hops combinations here because depending on the age and storage, you can run through the whole gambit here. Does this beer have complexity?? Yes, without question. A lingering, lasting bitterness that still leaves you with a fruit note at the backend. For my personal palate, it’s a bit too bitter. A very nice DIPA, up there with Hopslam and Dreadnaught

On tap at Parkway in Tacoma, WA: Wow, what an outstanding ale. Strong hop forward aroma and taste, to the point of being dank. A clear pour, mostly, with little spots of cloudiness, with a taste of citrus/fir and a crisp bite. Outstanding DIPA.
