COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Jacob Spears, our 6th Great Grand Uncle, is credited as the first distiller to label his whiskey "Bourbon." He built his distillery in Bourbon County, Kentucky in 1790 - 203 years before began brewing. While obviously a bit too late to produce Uncle Jacobís wash, weíve instead created something far more complex. In his honor, we present this robust, silky smooth, full-bodied and altogether extremely American rendition of an Imperial Stout aged for 6 months in the very finest bourbon barrels. This explains a lot about our penchant for big brews! Itís in our blood!
Brewed with Rocky Mountain Water, Malter Barley, Flaked Oats, Hops and Yeast.

Bottle shared with Labfrogg. Plum, raisin, coffee, a lot like Port aroma. Pours dark black with quickly dissipating tan head that almost boils away. Cascade of flavors. Coffee, bourbon, molasses, dried fruit. Simply amazing. The best beer I have had to date. Thanks, bro.

355 ml, bottled Feb 13 2015.
Black body, with a small, creamy, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of bourbon, coffee, cocoa, liquorice, dark chocolate, caramel, subtle dark fruits, subtle alcohol.
Taste flows this, except that it is much more alcoholic.
Medium, quite creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes boozy, roasty-bitter, a bit dry, with coffee, liquorice, cocoa.

Very nice, although not outstanding in my opinion. Tastes too boozy for my liking, but still really nice, complex stuff. Overall an enjoyable sipper, but not among my favourite Imperial Stouts.

355 ml bottle at home from trade with RobertDale. Thank you very much Bob!! Black color with dark beige head. Roasted malty aroma, dark dried fruits, chocolate, mocha, light coffee, cocoa, light vanilla, wood, alcohol. Sweet and bitter like aroma. Full silky creamy body with soft carbonation. I wish it had less alcohol and that I could find it easily in Greece!!

Despite the high ABV, I think this beer hides it well. After pouring it into my glass I considered pouring it into my cars engine instead. Pitch black, thick like oil. Just like an Imperial Stout should be. Taste is sweet but never unbalanced. A lot of different flavors bombard your senses with the roasted malts, chocolate, oak barrels and vanilla. During the long finish the alcohol becomes a bit too much - but just slightly.

355ml bottle. Pitch black body with a pretty much non-existing head. Pours like engine oil. Roasted aromas, coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, vanilla, salty, vineous. Flavor is heavy with roasted notes, vanilla, liquorice, dark chocolate. The alcohol is surprisingly well hidden but punches through at the finishing long, giving a long aftertaste.
