5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Bottle shared with Labfrogg. Plum, raisin, coffee, a lot like Port aroma. Pours dark black with quickly dissipating tan head that almost boils away. Cascade of flavors. Coffee, bourbon, molasses, dried fruit. Simply amazing. The best beer I have had to date. Thanks, bro.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured black with no head. Stron sweet aroma of alcohol, bourbon, molasses, and fruit. Flavor is an intense syrupy sweetness set against a mellow bourbon background. Not cloying or anything, this really works and is a very coherent, complex flavor. No real heat on this despite the abv. Mouthfeel is thick with a beautiful light carbonation. This is really good.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
355 ML bottle
Batch 1 2012
Black pour, settled black with hints of ruby. Light tan head that falls to a thin collar. Big time ABV legs and lots of residual oil left over.
Nose develops over time. Roast, chocolate, caramel, tar, cigar box at first. With more air the barrel and bourbon take over. Lots of vanilla, caramel, chocolate, prune, and coconut. Alcohol is well tempered.
Taste is amazing. Malted chocolate, bourbon, oak, caramel, vanilla, coconut, tar, and cigar. Slick, olly and full on to drink. ABV hits home in the mouth. So well balanced though.

"Wow - likely the best 15+% beer I’ve ever had or will have. Sweet from both the barreling and the abv, but not overly so. And not hot. I’m a fan of Mephistopheles, but this stout is in a whole nother class. Ridiculously good."
