COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Roman Empire had a certain “je ne sais quoi” festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen – that’s still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient – keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

Bottle to snifter. Pour is dark brown, near black, one finger tan head, fades to lacing/ring. Aromas of cocoa, coffee, roasted malt and a hint of booze. Taste is smooth and rich. Nice full-bodied mouthfeel without getting syrupy. Dry cocoa, vanilla wafer, bitter coffee, dark roast and some lingering booze...well hidden for the most part. Nice beer....more of a stout than an Imperial Porter, but whatever you call it, it’s good!

Bottle from Gene. Really awesome stout. Was worried it would be overly sweet like some other "flavored" stouts, but this was all within bounds. There was plenty of malty sweetness but it was well balanced and delcious.

Bomber to snifter. Thick pour, jet black, thin tan head that dissipates fast. Aroma is bold, sweet, raisin. Full body, creamy smooth, taste is roast, chocolate, molasses, coffee finish. Excellent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From notes. Tasted in early 2013 from a capped bomber bottle at SvT’s house. Pours super thick absolute black with an average brown head that leaves thin lace. The nose is super roasted with tons of coffee, vanilla cookie, molasses, and espresso. The flavor is super dry with more bitterness but all of the vanilla, molasses, and coffee from the nose. The body is massively full and creamy with average carbonation and a super long roasted bitter coffee with a hint of vanilla finish.

Bomber served in a snifter at room temperature. Best before 2015. Pours pitch black with a short light brown head. Great nose of coffee grounds, dark chocolate covered cherries, caramel, bread and a hint of smoke. Medium plus sweet flavor that shows roasty bitterness. Full body, thick texture, soft carbonation, and a long roasted finish propelled by a lingering heat. Oak would add complexity, but I like this one as is. Top shelf.

Poured from bottle, newer batch I believe, pours a very dark brown with a thick brown head, the aroma is of dark chocolate and roast with a little bit of coffee coming through too, the flavor has a touch of booze that comes through at first but then really mellows down, lots of dark chocolate and dark malt through out, thick mouthfeel, I can see why this stuff is so well liked.

Bomber from Wilbur’s. Appearance: half finger red brown head, black color, opaque, good lacing. Aroma: booze, chocolate, light raisin. Palate: soft carbonation, oily texture, light bitter. Taste: sweet malt into light coffee and dark chocolate, with a faint bitterness holding it all together. Overall, very smooth, booze hidden well.
