4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 EHouse (163) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - OCT 6, 2012Pours a rosy red with an itty bitty virile head. Aroma of vanilla, oak, sherry, caramel and molasses. Mmm smooth, balanced bizness flavors. Massive tannin overload when cold, but let this sucker warm up and you will be treated with a gift of heavenly proportions. Sherry, figs, caramel, vanilla, and a boat load of oaky tannins caress the tongue without destroying it. Man do those tannins smooth out. I’m going to buy a case of this and age it par the packaging recommends. I’ve imparted in the likes of properly aged Thomas Hardy, Ola Dubh and Lees Harvest Ale, and this is as good if not better than all of them. This is one of those beers you can not pass up but make sure you let it warm up.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ajnepple (467) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 20, 2013
12 oz bottle from Campus West. Deep dark red appearance with almost no head and no lacing. The aroma is wine, wood, dark fruit, spices, caramel and light vanilla. Similar flavor, complex. Medium bodied with a wine and dark fruit finish. The alcohol is mostly hidden. A nice sipper, pretty smooth.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 MikeJslc (469) - Utah, USA - MAY 20, 2013
Deep copper, hazy, beige head. Aroma of toasted malt, toffee, tart cherries, tobacco, oak, some light, strawberry-like fruit. Flavor: toasty and nutty malt, a little burnt sugar, more tart cherries, definite oak character (you can detect red wine and bourbon), an earthy tobacco note, light sourness and acidity but some residual sweetness is there. Complex and well done.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 valpoaj (531) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Bottle acquired via trade - pours a dank mahogany with almost no head to speak of - mild lacing. Aroma is bold and vibrant, all over the place, and damn good - tart fruit (cherry), bourbon/booze, wood, other dark fruit, brown sugar, slightly sour/vinous - wowzers. Flavor is very cherry forward, but in a good way - plenty of sweet and tart fruit (cherry, cranberry), malt, wood, and an overall sour/funky feel- this is some seriously complex stuff that I’m having a hard time pulling apart, but enjoying immensely. Palate seems appropriate for the style, and I must admit, although there’s edges of booze here and there, this drinks very easy for a 11-plus percent beer. Only regret is that I don’t have more
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 PhillyCraft (1964) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Bottle from Barry with some friends pours brown orange with light head and lacing. Notes are rich booze, bourbon, sherry, oak, rich wood, cognac, sweet, hops, plum, cherries, and bannana pudding. Awesome.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Chuckaduck (490) - Kentucky, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Bottle to snifter. Best after 4/30/13. Consumed 5/13/13. Pours deep brown-mahogany with a very fluffy, beige head. Aroma is IPA-like; spicy, fruity, apples, citrus, grass, lemon, caramel, vinous. Taste makes me smile; sour cherry, citrus, dark fruits, spicy, more cherries, vanilla, caramel, a good amount of barrel, oak, wood, earth, lots of fruit; finish is tart cherries. Beautiful dense lacing throughout. Medium-low carbonation. Chewy mouth feel. Alcohol is evident but fairly well-hidden considering the ABV. This is excellent. VERY West-Coast. Please tell me there was more of this bottled!

Bottle. Incredible. Pours a hazy dark amber with very little head. Aroma is tart cherry. Woody and a little dry. Really a good beer, might grab a couple more.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3977) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 6, 2013
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a brown color with a small foamy white head that lingered and left a decent amount of lacing. The aroma was boozy tropical fruits, pine and table sugar. The flavor was bitter, tart and sour pine, lemon, tropical fruits, bourbon, coconut, plum and oak. Medium length finish of oak, pine, tropical fruits and coconut. Moderately full bodied and almost syrupy. Nice.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Atom (995) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 5, 2013
12oz bottle, (drinking with Adam, Fred, and The Dissident) pours a murky slight amber brown with a small khaki head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, caramel, some sour cherry, slight rye, and whiskey’s. Full body, caramel and toffee, some mild cherry tartness, vanilla and oak. A fair about of orange sweetness from the Fred. Tartness of the cherries from the Dissident comes through nicely. I think the Adam comes through the most here with chocolate and darker malts and works the best to help blend all the different barrels. Overall very complex and enjoyable!! Glad I have a few more bottle of this one.
