Few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all – it must taste rare!

Bottle split with mcberko. Pours a gorgeous solid black with a caramel tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, some burnt espresso, and caramel notes. Flavour is intensely roasted yet also sweet in the right places, with hints of vanilla and plum. An exact collision of mcberko and my favourite aspects of a good Imp. Stout...he likes them intensely roasted, I like them a little sweeter. Wow. This is viscous, rich, creamy, smooth, beautifully balanced, perfect carbonation. Yum! Poured lightly chilled - I bet it is more flavourful a tad warmer - if I can make it last long enough! Rare :P

Huge body. Very dark with a brown head. Coffee and roast malt with a bit of nuts, cocoa, and licorice. Full and heavy, strong through the finish. Not to be taken lightly.

Svart som natten. Trevlig doft och smak. En rejäl imp Stout som är lite kärv på slutet. Bra ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a tallboy into a snifter. Pours a deep dark brown. Very nice coffee aroma. Mouthfeel is actually light for a 12%er but that’s good. I don’t like too sweet or sticky of a stout. Just enough carb to keep it interesting. Taste is a real nice mix of the usual suspects, coffee, more coffee, vanilla, wood, brown sugar. Excellent beer and for a real nice price ~$5. I’ll grab a few of these next time I can. Looking forward to trying the Imperial Biscotti Break.

A classic strong dark flavourful stout, all flavours nicely balanced, with chocolate and smokiness slighly the most dominent ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured into a snifter, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a nice thin white to off white almost tan finger’s worth of head. Dissipates at a nice pace. Lacing is spotty and thin. The aroma starts off with thick sweet and roasty chocolate fudge portions blending beautifully with roasted coffee beans. Sly vanilla. A touch of marshmallow. Dried sugars. The flavor takes all of the previously mentioned aromas to blend. Sweet blended touch of the sugars to the fudge to the cocoa in the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium in body. Feels exceptionally smooth with barely any carbonation, but though lacking, still comes across extremely nice. Overall, really nice Imperial stout that I would have again.

Can from the Good Spirits Co Wine & Beer. Pours a dense black with a deep tan. Nose: some treacly spice, some.heavy malt. Palate is creamy, tarry, heavy, sweet milky treacle-malt. Lovely.

Tap. Pitch black, no head. Coffee, dark chocolate and dried plums in aroma. Taste is really sweet, a bit too much for a ris in my opinion. Overall nice beer, but too little roastiness and chocolate notes.
