In June 2012, we celebrated the 10th birthday of our notoriously mega-hopped double IPA, Stone Ruination IPA, with the release of a very special version that was even bigger and, incredibly, even hoppier than the original. If Stone Ruination IPA is “A Liquid Poem to the Glory of the Hop,” then Stone Ruination Tenth Anniversary IPA was an amped-up heavy metal version of that ode delivered with the force of a sledgehammer. Luckily for us, our fans love loud and aggressive brews, specifically when copious amounts of humulus lupulus are involved. The original release of this beer was so instantly beloved by those who dared try it

Bottle. Clear dark golden pour, medium tan head. Nose is nice and fruity, taste a clear hoppy one, with a very sharp abrupt bitter finish. Heavy body, average carbonation.

22oz bomber. At first I was hesitant to pick up a triple IPA (TIPA?), but then my excellent experiences with Stone quickly dispelled any qualms. For the first few sips, I felt the malt was a little overbearing, but as I progressed through the bottle it made more sense to me. Alcohol was well hidden.

excellent retention and heavy chunky lacing. (5/5) Aroma: pine resin, pithy grapefruit, caramel malt, dank. (8/10) Taste: moderately strong sweet, intense bitter. (8/10) Palate: medium to full body, moderate carbonation, lingering warming finish. (4/5) Big, bombastic, and verging on brutal. Personally, though, I think there’s a slight tendency towards too much malt in support of the huge bitterness - if you ask me, the “substantial malt backbone” is a little too much so. But even so, this is one smooth (yet skanky) beast. I bought two, thinking I might try aging one, but after experiencing the malt presence that’s already there? Naw. Gonna drink the other one soon, when I feel like getting my booze on. (No, not breakfast tomorrow... probably.) (17/20)

This beer had alot of hype, but i don’t think it quite lives up to it. maltier ipa than i’m used to. orange hops and lemon. Solid brew but i don’t think it stands up to the finer west coast ipas

Pours a filtered, orange-golden color, with a small froth head, leaving back thick sheets of lacing. Smells of skunky peaches, luscious papaya and herb topped lemon peel. Provides cakey malts, which add a ripe note to the fruits, enhancing the diverse hop profile on the nose, without becoming too present on their own. Packs a lower carbonation, making the beer not overly refreshing, which is also due to a sweet malt presence, lending a sticky quality to the taste. It drinks very soft though, with hops rolling over the palate from the beginning till the finish. Tastes of sweeter malts, which turn even sweeter as the flavors evolve on the palate. Those malts blend well into the equally well developed hops, exhibiting water melon bubble gum, papaya and ripe blood orange. The malts got a honey glazed quality to them, balancing the hop onslaught pretty well. Finishes with loads of honeyed malts and dried oranges, providing a well pronounced, hop supported full mouthfeel, with a decent grassiness being integrated. Hops and malts blend outstandingly well together, resulting in a honey dripping, well balanced iiipa, with enough fruity hop punch to push through

Brilliant clear copper with a small head. The aroma is resinous grapefruit and pine with thick caramel and a touch of alcohol. Strong resinous flavor with citrus and caramel. Finishes bitter and with some alcohol warming. Pretty good.

Beautiful bronze pour. All grapefruit and pine on the nose. Pine, grapefruit and caramel malts on the tongue, with some tropical fruit flavours. Resiny and bitter, this is a hop monster worthy of the Triple IPA title.

Poured a slightly hazy amber to pale copper colour with a 1 inch white head. Aroma is hop forward with notes of caramel, floral grapefruit, citrus, and pine. Flavor is sweet bready notes with a tropical and pine bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Bitterness is not overpowering and rather inviting with lingering flavors of herbs and pine on the tongue. Solid IPA. 2015 edition.

Bottle. Pours a hazy deep orange red with a thick white head. Aroma of glorious sweaty hops, hop oils, pine, citrus, and caramel malts. Very rich aroma. Flavor of rich malts with a bitter hoppy bite, pine, sweaty and oily hops. Quite bitter and aggressively hopped. A true triple IPA, very decadent and heavy. 9/4/8/4/14 (3.9/5)
