En botella, cortesia de derbidagge, oscura como la noche, densa, espuma fina beish. Aromas dulces, torrefactos, cacao, caffe, vainilla y chocolate. Sabor contundente y amable para su alta graduación. Una delicia!

Pours totally black with a black head. Aroma is malty, vanilla, chocolate, roasted with some chilli and coffee. Taste is moderate sweet leading to a dry finish. I haven’t always been impressed with Brewdog’s stuff but this is awesome!

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Bergen Storsenter, Bergen. Pours a pitch black body with a small beige head. Aroma is ashes, tar, alcohol, licorice, hints of espresso and leather. Taste is alcohol up front, along with tar, licorice, coffee, leather, dark berries, cocoa, hints of ashes and syrup. Slight chili burn in the aftertaste, but not really that assertive. Medium body and carbonation; strange enough for such a big beer which I would expect to be fuller. The flavors seem off-balance and not very well integrated - perhaps this will change with storage. OK, but AB:04 was far better.

330ml bottle in a box, expensive anniversary ale bought at Vinmonopolet City Nord, Bodø. Oily pour revealing a brownish layer covering a coal black body. Dotted spots at the glass. Lovely aroma of cocoa, dark spices and roasted, semi-sweet malts. Fine blended taste of vanilla sweetness and cocoa offset by spices and roasted malts towards a lingering ending. Warming alcohol. A very nice one, worth the price (at my sister’s house in Bodø, 27.04.2013).

Botella. Presencia limpia negra opaca con carbónico medio y corona marrón poco persistente aunque duradera. Aroma a roasted malts, cacao y licor. En boca equilibrio maltas- alcohol- chocolate, con licor café que lo inunda todo, complejidad final amargor y picante. Muy buena

Pitch black pour with a small and fading dark brown head ,Heavy coffee vanilla and liqueur in the aroma more of that taste wise supplemented by some spiciness and soy sauce/liquorice flavor and an after taste that lasts for eons, Body is full oily and sticky texture carbonation is almost flat a great beer!

Thx! for sharing Kraddel. 33 cl. bottle in a “fancy” cardboard box. Batch 97. Bottle on 01/04/2012 – making this exactly one year old when consumed. Black with only a few mocha bubbles for a head. Smell is roasted coffee drenched in licorice with age already taking its toll, light booze, spices, molasses, roasted malts,… Taste is chili still there, agreeable burn upfront, burned coffee and malts, alcohol coming through, pure coffee and chocolate, licorice, molasses,… chili heat and alcohol warming. Age is taking some toll. Near flat – agreeable but not really worth some of the praise this gets or the price tag although the latter is no longer a surprise with Brewdog and a prerequisite.
