COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This bold Belgian Style Ale is a blend of 4 sources of fermentable sugars. American Oak, sour cherries, and three seperate strains of brettanomyces. It takes over a year to make each batch because a beer like this requires patience, creativity, and most importantly, equal parts luck and skill. We know of no other beverage in the world that tastes like this.

Wow - toffee, chocolate, bourbon and amazing sour cherry/lemon and acidity. What an amazing beer. Especially for the strength. The toffee lingers and nice acidic tartness. Has to be one of the best.

2010 vintage bottle at S&B - pours viscous dark brown - great leggs! aroma of soy sauce, apple and balsamic vinegar. Full blown start with with a huge palate overlay and a perfect sweet & sour balance. Taste of chocolate and cherries with a salty butterscotch finish. Spectacular!

Btl @Sour&Bitter 2008; Little head, coca cola colour. Super nose with raisins, prune - like an too old wine - in the good way. Medium and very long. Taste is raisins with plenty of red burned fruit: Berries, prune and even a light licorize. Really fine yet quite heavy.

Purchased this from a guy doing a cellar cleaning. 750ML format, 2009 Vintage. Stored in the cellar for a month or so. Poured into an Ommegang Glass.

A - Very small cork of the pop with very little carbonation. Tiny coffee coloured head but dissipated almost instantly. This beer is a very dark hazey brown. Looks closer to a the liquid you get following squashing grapes. On a glass swirl, more red dark cherry colors are apparent.

S - Dark cherries dominate the nose followed by a very musty basement mold smell. Smells akin to a very old Bordeaux I had in France. Lots of wild grapes and bits of dark fruits and pineapples.

T - Holy moly! This is a total sour bomb. White wine characters of grapes and musty mold. The tartness is very similar to hand picked Muscadines.Nice sour cherries on the back of the tongue. The sour funk and wild characteristics are way more pronounced than expected which must be the age of the bottle. I don’t have a 2012 vintage to compare it to. The vinegar notes are great as I’m a huge fan of vinegar. There’s a minor hint of oak wood but it’s very subdued compared to the sour bomb that is this beer.

M - Minor carbonation on the mouth swish. Medium body. Huge sour funk that lingers for a very long time after drinking.

O - I was not expecting this to be such an intense sour beer but I’m excited that it is. Also, I hear now that the 750ml is a very rare format for this beer and the 2009 vintage. Stoked to have had both and bummed that, after opening I can’t share this with out local tasting group.

350mL caged cork bottle shared by Someister. (thanks again!) Fairly dark brown w/ some reddish coloring & low carbonation. Lots of Brett, sour, bourbon & slight cherry aromas. Get more sourness & funk upfront, but loads of vanilla, oak & bourbon the rest of the way. Incredibly complex- each sip tasted different. Amazing!

Draft at Monks Cafe. Awesome aroma of chocolate-covered cherries, oak, and whiskey. Flavor of sour bourbon and cherries. A touch harsh on the sourness, but overall a really good beer.

Bottle shared by CptnSpeed1, thanks Brad. Poped with almost nothing behind it. Murky redish brown pour. Tart cherries on the nose and in the tongue. Very nice!
