At Monk´s Wallingatan. Been matured in kegs from the swedish whiskymakers Mackmyra. Pitch black with only a faint tan foam. A nose with everything you could wish for. Oak, peaty whiskey, tones of roasted malts. The staff says that the whisky elements in the beer has grown bigger over time. Since its a really good strong porter as a base the whiskey don´t take over. You get a light whiskytouch in the taste, vanilla, and roasted coconut.

Draught @ SBWF’12

Pours pitch black with a nice brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, vanilla, oak, bourbon, hints of sweet syrup and hops. Taste is sweet and roasty with lots of bourbony notes, hints of vanilla, oak, syrup and wood. Finish is sweetish with a lot of vanilla oaky woody notes. Nice, surprisingly well balanced despite the massive woody notes.

Draught @ Monks Cafe Wallingatan, Stockholm. Pitch blak, opaque color, medium sized light brown head that leaves fair to good lacing. Smell roasted malts, whiskey, alcohol, wood. Taste roasted malts, lots of wood and whiskey, medium bitter, some moccha-flavors. Oh yeah, so good! Full body, oily texture, medium carbo. Great beer!

(Draught at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Black colour with creamy, brown head. Roasted, malty nose with black coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, liquorice and a touch of ashes. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, liquorice, vanilla, oak wood, a spicy touch of clove and a generous cocoa bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, fairly dry for its strength. Well balanced and very tasty beer. Lovely stuff!

Draught at the brewpub. Pitch black with small pale brown head. Oaky nose with where tobacco and chocolate joins licorice and vanilla. Full bodied with soft mouthfeel. Earthy with some Highland whisky. Long warming salmiaky finish. Somewhat oily, but with great balance amongst the rather intense flavours.
