At Monk´s Wallingatan. Been matured in kegs from the swedish whiskymakers Mackmyra. Pitch black with only a faint tan foam. A nose with everything you could wish for. Oak, peaty whiskey, tones of roasted malts. The staff says that the whisky elements in the beer has grown bigger over time. Since its a really good strong porter as a base the whiskey don´t take over. You get a light whiskytouch in the taste, vanilla, and roasted coconut.

Fick det stora nöjet att få prova på denna dryck som denna gång bryggts av Bröderna Andersson. Från fat på Wallingatan. Fantastisk doft! Torra goda smaker av choklad, kaffe och kola. Mycket trevlig öl på ett mycket trevligt ställe!

Tap at Monks porter house. Pours black with a medium sized creamy brown head. Aroma is smooth bitter and milk chocolate, sweet toffee, subtle oak and peat notes. Taste is medium sweet malty with light roasted coffee and chocolate bitterness, finish is light/medium roasted bitter with a light woody and peat note. Medium creamy body with soft carbonation.

#2500. Draught @ Monks Porter House, Stockholm, as Phakk Yakk, 8.8%. Pours cloudy very dark brown, with airy tan head. Intense, dark aroma of chocolate, malt and coffee, with subtle fruity notes. Sweetish flavour of chocolate, dried fruit and malt, enhanced by roasty and bitter notes of coffee, and well-discernible touches of oak barrels. Sweetish and smooth aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence, enhanced by hints of whisky. Good.

Draught @ Monks Porterhouse. Pours black with a rather big frothy and creamy dark mocha head that slowly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is malty with roasted malts, heavy dark chocolate, raisins in rum, vanilla fudge, charred wood,dark roast coffee, hay, blueberries, cranberries, peat, smoke, minerals and alcohol. Taste is sweet and malty with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, raisins, prunes, burnt caramel, toffee, sweetened dark roast coffee, hay, moist soil, charred wood, shredded coconut, sweet whisky, blueberry jam, minerals, peat, alcohol and juniper berries, mouthfeel is soft, velvety, round, tiny boozy and near full bodied. Finish is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, alcohol, dark chocolate, peat, sweetened dark roast coffee, smoke, hay, soil, whisky and blueberry jam. Big very sweet beer. Complex of full of flavors. Very tasty...

The last botte at Wallingatan. The bar tender said he could have sold it at twice it’s already exorbitant price! Abv is 9.5%. Opaque dark brown beer, little tan head. Palate is soft and fairly airy, semi dry. Smooth dark malt - trace of marmite. Nice touch of mellow wood. A little malt cream. Mild and unsweet dark chocolate. Good stuff - thick and tasty!

Bottle at Monk’s Wallingatan. Black colour with a small brown head. Malty, chocolate, toffee aroma. Flavour is dark chocolate, coffee, malt, liquorice. Full bodied.
