33cl bottle from Utobeer, London. It pours a dark brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma is intense with coffee, roasted matls, licorice, some woody notes. Taste is complex and balanced: bitter and roasty at the beginning with cocoa nibs, coffee beans and wood, then turns into a sour sensation, like sour red berries, with finally turns into the salty finish. Mouthfeel is full with soft/good carbonation. Overall, a superb beer. The chili peppers are a bit hidden by cocoa and salt, but the perfect balance between these different flavours is just mind blowing. Amazing.

Another imperial stout from de Molen. Chock full of cocoa malt, molasses and ash. Very smoked. Good - but like all the other deMolen beers.

On tap at Chuck’s Hop Shop CD a few weeks back. Since when have I ever had a brew from De Molen that wasn’t amazing? Oh yah, NEVER. This was the same. Huge and thick Impy Stout, what they’re known for, but with added flavors of cocoa, peppers, and salt. The salt was only detectable in the back end, but the cacao and chili’s were swimming around your nose and palate like Heaven. Dank.

Pours almost black with copper-tinged highlights. Nose shows chocolate fudge, red chilli, roasted malt, soft coffee notes. The cocoa character is awesome. Flavours include lots of roasted malt, booze, dry cocoa, soft chilli heat and a slight salty aspect. Finishes very dry with an assault from the roast and booze.

Bottled 4.6.2012. Black, low brown head. Salty bitterchocolate and coffee nose. Salt licorice base, cocoa, light heat, basil notes, plenty of umami, roast coffee and spices retronasal. Medium full solid body. Interesting, I get the feeling I would not have liked it any younger.

Bottle. Black body with a light tanned head. Aroma of grains, black coffee, chocolate and mild smoke. Taste of dark chocolate, sweet fruit, light spicy, roasted malt. Roasted hot sting in aftertaste. Quite a good beer!
