4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Flip top bottle from chouffe. I opened this one up on Thanksgiving. The pour is a hazy gold color with a white head that sticks around to shed some scattered lacing. The aroma is a bit herbal and grassy with huge whiffs of tropical fruity hops. Big juicy hop flavors of grapefruit, pineapple, and mango to mirror the aroma, with some sappy pine resin, and a bone dry finish. The body is supportive but fairly light allowing this to go down incredibly easily with no unnecessary stickyness. If there’s such a thing as a sessionable IIPA this is it. But make no mistake, this is loaded with delicious hops! A near perfect IPA for my tastes, and to be honest, I can’t think of how it could have been better. Hill Farmstead does it again.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tasted from draft. Pours a super cloudy pale orange with thick white head. Tons of lacing. Aroma is big time tropical fruit. Notes of mango, passion fruit, pineapple and orange. Taste is incredibly well balanced. Mild to moderate bitterness with malt backbone. Really no bitter bite at all. I really think non IPA drinkers would love it. Creamy and smooth mouthfeel with no hint of alcohol. Flavors of oranges, grapefruit, passion fruit, mango, pine, biscuit sweetness. Incredible IPA.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: JUN 19, 2015 Growler from the brewery. Pours cloudy yellow with a big creamy white head that just sticks all over the glass. Aroma of grapefruits, pineapples, mangoes, some pine and grass, really nice. Flavor is off the hook. Lots of bitterness here, but it gets your palate ready for the sweet pineapple and mango, along with lots of citrus fruits, and then a final kick of bitter dry pine. Finishes clean as can be (no surprise there for HF). Body is relatively light for a DIPA, but creamy with nice sweet malt backing. Goes down way too easy. This is fantastic.

Sampled at the brewery and rated from a 2L growler. Oddly enough seemed to benefit from sitting in the growler for a while as I was not originally too impressed by the sampler. Hazy dark amber with an off white head. Old lemon and grapefruit rind, mango, some papaya, some peach and semi-floral hops with a background malt presence. Moderate carbonation and full body, crisp, balanced, easy to drink and enjoyable with a refreshing bitterness.
