4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 DalzAle (1735) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - OCT 2, 2012Can. Clear medium golden pour, nice frothy head and a crisp juicy prickly pear hops aroma. Flavor is also juicy spicy light fruits, dry crisp citrus and nice and pleasantly lingering bitters on the aftertaste. Can’t complain a bit about this beer, always a solid release every year.
4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Bestbrew1 (45) - Minnesota, USA - MAY 15, 2013
One of the best beers they put out. Definitly one of the top 3 in my opinion. Nice and fresh and a beer of theirs that is worth seeking out. Wet and Abrasive are currently my two favorite beers of theirs.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Glouglouburp (5545) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 9, 2013
In short: A clean citrusy, grassy, piney blond IPA. Excellent.
How: Can 16oz. A few cans sent from a few people, thanks guys. Consumed approximately 2 months after the beer release.
The look: Clear golden body topped by a medium white head with medium retention and leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose is citrusy and slightly piney hops with some green grass. Taste has a bed of honeyed cereals, a light Frosted Flakes™ sensation, a solid hopping, green grass juice and citrus fruits and piney notes. Short bright bitterness of medium intensity. Nothing resinous or sticky here. As it is always the case with Surly cans, carbonation was spot-on perfectly levelled. This one didn’t feel like a typical wet hop IPA to me, there was some of that green grass juice/vegetables that I usually associates to wet hop IPAs but overall it tasted as much like a ‘normal’ IPA than a wet hop one. Anyway, an excellent IPA. I got a few cans from a few regular trade partners (oakbluff, tyler_mn) because my wife wanted some too, sorry guys about the “can you get my wife Wet?” confusion.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 blankboy (5138) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 26, 2013
Can [16oz] courtesy of Glouglouburp. Pours a hazy gold with a large semi-lasting frothy white head and some lacing on the glass. Nice, big hoppy aroma along with bready malt and citrus fruit. Great hoppy flavour, resiny, fruity, piney and more, along with bready malt, citrus and a medium+ bitter finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied. Simply put, a solid IPA.
4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 djd07 (2316) - Houston, Texas, USA - FEB 19, 2013
Can. Pours a clear orange gold with a medium white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is a strong floral hop and pine, just amazing nose. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet floral malt and very strong hop bite and nice lingering bitter finish. Hides alcohol decently, a very impressive IPA from Surly.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 thome50 (573) - Boringville aka Irvine, California, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Tap while visiting Minneapolis in October. Pours a golden with medium sudsy white foam head. Aroma is citrus, slight dank and what I just think of as being "fresh hopped" smell. Taste is very resinous with grapefruit and loads more fresh hops here. Loved this beer more than the 2011 version.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 chanokokoro (138) - Illinois, USA - DEC 9, 2012
16 oz. tallboy can poured into a becker pint glass. Canned on 9/25/12 and enjoyed 10/11/12.
Pours a golden amber with some orangish hues topped with a fluffy and sticky two and a half finger white head. Good retention and splotchy, sticky lacing all around the glass. Strong smell of pine sap, grapefruit rind and citrus on the nose. Opens with a touch of sweet citrus joined suddenly by bitter rind, strong pine notes, a hint of honey like sweetness as the malt joins in midpalate and finish dry and extremely bitter with a blast of pine and grapefruit rind. Slick, oily, and resinous, medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. The wet hops are certainly the star of the show in this brew and there isn’t much between your tongue and their oily, sticky bitterness. An excellent wet hop West Coast-style IPA.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 XmnwildX12 (1472) - Farmington, Minnesota, USA - DEC 5, 2012
Can from Four Firkins on the release date of the 2012 Surly Wet. Has amazing notes of resin and some citrus, get a little bit of pineapple. Nice light golden amber in color with a nice frothy head that fades to a nice lacing on top. Taste is a very nice balance between some sweeter notes and pine, it finishes with a very nice bitter.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 stoltemik (12) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 28, 2012
A fresh smelling beer with an aroma of grass and resin. Pours an appealing clear gold with a fluffy white head. Has a light, refreshing, bitter hoppy taste. It doesn’t linger on the palate but leaves a pleasant lightly sour aftertaste. A fun, fresh, easy drinking lightly hopped beer.
4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 mnmike (609) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 27, 2012
This stuff is great to just sniff. I’d buy cologne that smelled like this. Best smelling beer out there. Taste is great too. $16/4-pack.

16 ounce can thanks to Dallas. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. A big fruity nose with pine and dank citrus. The flavor is very rich green fresh hops dominated by dank weed and fruit. Not very bitter. Quite good. Simcoe is always nice. Very carbonated.
