So, what you have here is an imperial sweet stout aged in cognac barrels. It tastes like finding money in your coat pocket with hints of your bag being the first one out of the carousel at baggage claim. It’s good.

Thank you Jordan for this exquisite elixir! This beer is almost chewy, full of brandy-soaked dark fruits and soft coffee undertones. You can taste cognac in every sip, but it’s so perfectly balanced... One of Cigar City’s best. There’s no doubt that this will age wonderfully.

Bottle @ ØlKonsortiet summer shananigans. Classic Cigar City imp stout look, jet black with a huge dark brown head. instant 5 in appearance. Loads of roasted malts on the nose, intense roastiness, soy, liquorice and notes of fruity cognac. Taste is full on roasted malts, bitter chocolate notes, a bit of very nice sourness from the intense roastiness, which gives notes of acidic coffee, topped off with slight hints of the cognac. Barrel aging not very in your face, but leaves plenty of room for the complexity of the malts. Not as sweet as I feared, this is a lovely beer!

Bottle share. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Slightly dusty aroma, but dark fruits, coffee. Very full body, slightly acidic from the burnt malts.

Bottle pours black with a medium light brown head that diminishes.Aroma of cognac, malt and chocolate. Full-bodied with flavors of milk chocolate, roasted malt, cognac, and a bit of black cherry. The finish is cognac with a lingering chocolate aftertaste overall very good.CHEERS!

750 bottle. Kind of a mess. Bitter roast overpowers the barrel. Ok but not as good as I hoped.

Rating #100 for this one. 25.4 oz bottle. Deep brown with a tan slick and a few edgy bubbles. Nose is chocolate cake, cognac, wood, raisin and molasses. Oily medium body with a sharp boozy tang. Taste is black licorice, dark chocolate, soft cognac, boysenberry and malt. Big brew but well contained.

Diabeeeetus! Bottle kindly shared by kermis at the CMLSG14 cellar tasting. Pours deep black with a decent head. Incredibly boozy sweet chocolate nose and it pulls all the way through over the body and aroma. Over the top sweetness whicc disbalances the whole beer. Pity.

Bottle at tasting. Flat black pour. Aroma is really chocolatey, dark fruits (plums, dates), very light roast, light oaky notes. Taste is very sweet, heavy and boozy, cloying fruity sweetness, port notes. Palate is rich and sweet, low carbonation, cloying. Interesting flavors, but way over the top.
