4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Yet another exceptional brew from Unibroue. This one surpasses Maudite in terms of quality and balance but is very similar when not comparing side-by-side

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown with thin head. It has a subtle aroma of wine and dark fruit. Sports a complex fruity flavor with raisins, dark fruit, plum, sherry. Slight hint of sour, vinous aftertaste. Medium body. Slight warming. I enjoyed this quite a bit as a very different drinking experience than my current trend of Oktoberfest and the like. I wish I had more as I feel this would a great beer to enjoy over the course of a night spent next to the fire reading a good book. I drank the one I had while playing guitar so it wasn't really the mellow contemplative setting this beer deserves.

Not a lot of dtetectable aroma. Pours a very dark brown with thin tan head. Very complex taste as added spices are evident. Very smooth and mellow. Good but not my favorite style.

Drought. Inky black with small off-white foamy head, very little caramel aroma, medium carbonation, mocha taste with a hint of sour cherry, long finish. Very smooth and balanced taste!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Famed Canadian ale in Belgian trappist or abbey beer style. Lots of dark malts, caramel, chocolate, dried fruits, aromatic hops; well-balanced and tasteful but it also had a hint of DMS which disturbed me a little.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From 341 ml bottle. Pour is dark brown with almost no head. Nose is vinous port wine-like with strong notes of sweet dark fruits, mainly prunes and cherries. Fresh pie notes too. Taste is quite sweet with a long warm alcohol finish. Flavours of sweet fruit desserts with some vanilla and dough notes. This beer has definitely a unique character!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Color is dark brown. Aroma is sour, very ripe tropical fruit, sweet sugar. Taste is cherries, really ripe banana, some lemon and yeasty sourness backed. Quite sweet once it warms up a bit (and you should let it warm up - it improves dramatically). Booze is apparent and warming, but not overwhelming. Not a style I am a big fan of, but it’s obvious this is a very high quality brew.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dark brown nearly black color, with a nice light tan head. Very Cool bottle. Aroma is like dark fruits, dark malt. Taste is impressive, dark malty, with hints of said fruit, yet balanced and very good. Very drinkable no bitterness or harshness. Some light alcohol taste, not enough to be overpowering, it does let you know its there! Over all excellent beer!!
