nice looking porter, black with amber tints and a nice light tan head and good lacing.
Smells very nice. Lightly roasty and smoky notes with a touch of chocolate.
Taste follows somewhat along the nose, but even more complex and delicious. Thereís a great smoky roasted backbone with sweet milk chocolate, a wisp of coffee, and a very well proportioned yet forward and complex hop profile. Really good, this may be my favorite porter Iíve tried yet!
Sweet, full bodied, smooth as hell and incredibly satisfying. The hops finish it off with just a touch of twang that really surprises me, and sets this porter apart from the rest.
Monstrous! Great porter, definitely try and include in trades to people who like porters.

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2013 Dark color. Black. Foamy and heady. Chocolate aroma and taste. Almost but not quite sweet. Just enough balance to negate it. A classic porter and a breath of fresh air

Amazing flavors without too forceful of a roast aftertaste. Only knock is that the carbonation might be slightly too much for my taste.

Kind of watery for a porter but has a real nice balance of nut and sweet taste

Pours coffee black with a huge chocolate, malty, roast aroma, followed by a deep, intense malt base, with just the right amount of bitterness to frame all the flavors.

My first Deschutes and still one of my favorites. Its chocolatey, roasted character and hop tinge are spot on.

650ML 22oz bottle: Roasty, chocolate, hop bitterness & earthiness. Taste is same but a tad watery. Veary heavy bodied. Like a desert beer. Taste higher % then it is. Jet black w/brown head. Veary heavy bodied, but good. Too heavy bodied for style but thatís all from this porter having more hops then some other porterís.
