4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
330ml bottle into a tulip.
Pours a clear very dark brown, nearly opaque. Topped by a huge billowy off-white head that keeps growing thanks to the abundant carbonation. Some of the best head retention I have every seen.
Aroma has lots of dark fruit such as figs and cherries layered on top of wood. Hints of pipe tobacco along with wet grass and hay. A little bit of light cocoa underneath.
The flavor really has tons going on. Like in the aroma, dark fruit predominantly up front consisting largely of cherries and figs. A decent woody note is present along with a little bit of must although it nicely compliments the other flavors. Grass comes in next along with a moderate, cleansing bitterness. The beer finishes dry on the palate with bitterness lingering long after all other flavors depart.
Overall, a truly complex and amazing beer. There is really so much going on here and the flavors change as the beer warms. One of the classics.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The beer pours dark, mahogny colored with a hughe, three finger high, brownbeige, head.
Nose: Brown sugar, dark syrup, hazelnut, fudge, caramel, dark bread, raisin, plum, marzipan, dark fruit, cherries and caramel malt. Itís a very beatiful nose!
Taste: Nuts, a hint of roasted malt, caramel, brown sugar, coffee, alcohol, biscuit, hops and burned sugar. The taste isnt really up to the quality of the nose.
Body: Medium to full body. High carbonation. A bitter aftertaste.
A great double!

Dejlig let spændende mørk trappistøl igen. Fin balance og på ingen måder tung. Dog ikke den bedste trappistøl....

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a dark brown color, topped with a medium sized beige colored creamy head. Malty aroma, yeasty with some fruity notes and a tad of alcohol. Taste is mild ysweet, malty with yeasty presence. A bit of fruity presence can be felt. Almost no bitterness but a slight alcohol burn feeling - not too strong. Drinkable, though Iím not a big fan.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Muddy brown color with light brown head. Dark fruit aroma with some spices and yeasty esters. Taste starts also yeasty with some raisin notes but itís not a sweet beer. Itís quite balanced and drinkable. The alcohol is also barely noticeable. Really good example for the style.
