wickedpete (634) - Lexington Park, Maryland, USA - MAY 25, 2009
2005 vintage, bottled 2007. Dark ruby red body with a short pink creamy head that slowly fades to a mist. The aroma is strongly tart and funky, some hay, dust, vinegar, and rhubarb. A mellow sweet raspberry aroma comes through middle to end. Heavily sour and acidic. Very vinegar like with only slight fruit noticeable in the middle. Finishes with a strong funky sour. I was hoping for a bit more fruit along with the tartness, but this is by far the sourest beer Iíve ever tasted and I love it.

nimbleprop (6066) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - AUG 5, 2015
750ml bottle, 2006 vintage shared by Travlr at the last DC Local Tasting. Pours a bright pink with some tight, white head. Nose is excellent, plenty of jammy berry, maybe not distinguishable as raspberry but sort of a mix berry cocktail, a whiff of candy, a solid but not distracting amount of horsey funk, a little brie, straw, some sweet tarts. Flavor follows right behind, that characteristically lemon Cantillon thing, grass, straw, some light grapefruit rind, then blue and raspberry, some cheesiness. Tart finish. Extremely well balanced. For those who think you canít age fruited lambics, think again. 7 years in the bottle and still plenty of fruit.
