4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Aroma is incredible, like opening a bag of hops. Has a cascade-like scent and some citrus - amarillo? Very nice. Nice golden-brown color, pretty clear, but touch of cloud. Taste is amazing. Sweet and viscous, complex. Bitterness rumbles around like it is lost in the thick sweetness and then bursts in the finish and aftertaste. I was expecting a rough hop bomb but this comes across as very refined and velvety. I love this beer and will buy it whenever I find it.

1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
bottle aged in rotbox for 4+ years. fortunately the bootle notes that this 1 "AGES WELL".
Looks like swampwater dump sludge. pics are pics:
aroma of big huge sweet green raisins, cane sugar, boozy melon, sugared cola and pineapple. not too offensive, but not very inviting either.
taste: big sweet booze boost juice. leaves bitter boozy pineapple. not the most subtle of brews. rather, knocks one over the fucken head.
low marks on the budlight drinkability index. but booze more mellowed than expected. sticky mouthfeel. fine.
shelf turd status: unknown, scroll past
gross, but better than expected.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, 355ml - Clear amber beer with s large head. Aroma is fruity with notes of peaches, citrus, caramel, cactus fruit, pungent hops and pine needles. Flavor is fruity with notes of peaches, citrus, pineapple, caramel, oranges and alcohol. Wow, this is truly a DIPA in its rightful form.

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fairly fresh from 7/26/1992, pours a rich copper color with a little head. So much smell: hops, boozy, somewhat floral. Taste is extremely bitter and has a tiny burn from the alcohol content. Definitely something I would drink without food and with a friend or two.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from 06 or 07...plenty of age on this...pours a viscous goldish-orange with some decent head given what it is. Aroma is intensely sweet, boozy, mildly hopped...very in-your-face. Flavor is syrupy sweet with a heavy dose of booze...honey-forward, candied malts and some bitterness throughout the ride. Palate is very resinous and smooth. I must say, this was an interesting drink, and I think Iíll let the second one I have sit for a number of years, but I probably wonít rush out to buy any more.

draft. into a mini snifter. Wow, straight up nail polish aroma with a touch of hops. slightly hazy with a small white head. taste is sweet with a firm bitterness. moderate hop flavor, but underwhelming. disappointed in this batch. Had it in the past and was much better.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle from 11-26-08. Poured a deep orange with some whitish head. Very little lacing. Aroma was mostly boozey nail polish. Taste was about the same; really boozey, some citrus, some vanilla, some medium malt sweetness. Ended up drain pouring this. Sad, because this beer is great fresh, and great with 2-3 years on it. Iíll be cracking the rest of my old bottles soon to see how theyíre holding up.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 4, 2013 Bottle from The Art of Beer in Highwood. Pours a very clear orange with a white head. Some light lacing. Aroma has super overhopped spicyness and citrus. Heavy pine. Heavy resin. Essentially the result of huge overhopping. No discernable malt presence. Taste is of overbitter citrus, sour fruits, spicy pine and strong resin; quite rough. Champagney-alcohol presence. Full bodied and very chewy. Finishes salty bitter, with alcohol. Shrug? Too over-the-top so the flavor disappeared. No bottle date, so that could have an effect. Of course, the argument could be made to age this another few years to mellow it.
