COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45įP, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBUís, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

Huge malty, alcohol forward nose - powerful and rich. Beautiful golden brown color. Tastes like a tawny port in a beer bottle. For being 120 IBU and supposedly the hoppiest beer in the world, it isn't really that hoppy. The high alcohol really rounds it out and brings more oaky, malty flavors. I did age it for about six months, so perhaps that toned down the sharpness a bit (although when I first had it on tap, I noticed the same thing). Maybe next time I'll try one fresh. An outstanding drink - however you want to classify it.

Quite possibly, one of my most favorite beers ever. I was first turned on to this beer at a yardhouse, where they had this on tap. This was absolutely amazing and a must if you are a hophead.

This was aged for a little over 1 year in a dark nightstand drawer at room temperature. Any hop aroma or flavor had long since faded. This beer was very very boozy (as expected). It was definitely a very interesting beer and my rating partly reflects the uniqueness/impressiveness of the beer. Itís definitely not an everyday drinker or even an every week or month drinker. But, if you get a chance to snag one of these, donít pass it up.

On tap at the Black Sheep ale house..orange copper pour with fluffy white head..huge hop aroma, along with resin,pine..bitter,bitter..did I say bitter? Alcohol very present which kinda drowns out the citrus..if it didnít..Itíd be world class.

Wanted to age it, wasnít patient enough. Poured into a snifter. Beautiful orange creme/orange gold color, head disappears before you can say "one-twenty." Aroma is sweet, like brown sugar or molasses with citrus notes. Taste is incredible, again sweet yet the alcohol balances it out (tastes more like itís 8% abv than 18). Strong mouthful but not stinging, pleasant. Definitely lived up to the hype.

On draught at Saraveza for 5th Annual IIPA Festival. Dark golden color. Aroma is citrus, plum, and candi sugar. Taste is quite herbal, with sweet citrus and fruit. Deceptively light tasting, with the hops producing a lot of fruit and floral components, but hardly any bitterness.

Bottle, thanks a million, Mike! Amber with off white head. 2011. Some oxidised notes, sherry, dried fruits, very resinous, molasses. Taste of licorice, caramel, sherry, resin. Quite sweet and bitter. Delish and complex

Oh my....Beautiful color, nice head. Strong complex aroma. Flavors are strong and complex, can they be subtle as well? The flavors change constantly as the beer warms and opens up. This is one for sipping and stareing at the fire, as you will not be able drive after.
