The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Dark brown; aromas of dark fruit, cigar box, cloves, spices, alcohol; thick, beautiful, smooth, creamy mouthfeel; sweet, rich malt, spicy, yeasty, dark fruits, cherries, raisins, perhaps some vanilla; alcohol is well disguised; a complex and practically faultless beer.

Booze on the nose. Similar to the 8 it sort of fades from dark brown under the head to almost golden at the bottom. I really like the 8, but this one is even better. More forward and bolder. This one has some nuts and some kind of chocolatey prune flavor. Decent carbonation and a dry finish. An absolute must for drinkers. Really cool.

Dark brown and hazy color. Good initial beige head, that kept a small lace till the end. Low carbonation but full and round bodied. Creamy texture. Aroma is yeast, raisins, plums, very spicy (cloves and pepper). Taste is sweet, plums raisins, dried red fruits, caramel, roasted malt. ginger biscuit and spicy. Aftertaste is long, sweet and dry.

At beer bar in Bruges w Bergers. Usually a beer this thick and syrupy isn't my thing but this tastes like a great chocolates stout. Fresh bottle with matching glass. Awesome.

Very dark brown with a quickly-dissipating light beige head. Lots of yeast left in the bottle. Aroma is not strong, dark fruits, some yeast and alcohol. Taste is sweet and malty. Nice

Hazy greasy brown lemonade. Greasy, soft prune nose. Initial taste is bright sweaty dark fruit, keen lemon and a faint creamy white choc and capped booziness. Clean, enriching mouthfeel and a cookie sweetness. Fading clean sweetness. Very, very drinkable. Always solid. Always one I forget to rate.

Penso sia la birra più buona che abbia bevuto in vita mia. Magnifica. Indescrivibile..
