The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

0.33l bottle. Very dark brown, almost black body with a nice beige head that dissappears quite quickly. Very complex aroma with caramel, reisins, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, yeasts and floral hops. Taste is amazing as well. Lots of caramel, fruity hops, coffee and chocolate. Really sweet when you sip it, but the aftertaste is hoppy. Warming alcohol. Amazing beer. After a while, lots of sediment gathers at the bottom of the glass.

J’ai beau en goûter d’autres très bonnes, la rochefort 10 reste pour moi le top du top, qui convient en beaucoup de circonstances.

Bottle. Pours Hazy dark chestnutt brown with particles in suspension and a medium sized frothy tan head. Aroma of caramel, spices and ripe fruit. Taste is red fruit, caramel and spices latching on. Medium to full bodied. creamy texture. Really good.

Bottle 330ml, pours almost clear hazelnut brown with some yeast and hop particles swiming in it. Creamy colored head reduces fast to a nice lacing. Strongly sparkling. Sweet aroma of caramel, red fruits, nuts and biscuits. Noticable also some basement notes. In taste also a lot of sweetness with some light background bitterness. The beer is full bodied with a lot very fruitty character and some spicy aftertaste that reminds me of black pepper. Dry with a tart finish. Very nice one eventhough I’m not a big fan of the belgian style.

2/22 Bottle - Incredible beer! Very nice dark brown pour, nice head, very thick texture. Nice fruit and caramel smell. Excellent tasting beer, very nice strong kick going down. Quadrupels are among my favorite beers, and this one was one of the best I have ever had. Highly recommended!!!

Bottle. Tan frothy head, diminishing but leaving a very thin lasting layer. Aroma is complex and intense. A lot of ripe fruit, dark fruit and prune with some toasted malts tinge.Taste is also complex and rich, plenty of dried fruit flavours (prune, plum and raisin) with caramel and toasted malt tinge. Longing ripe fruit acidity aftertaste.

Pours a dark amber, cola-like robe topped by a fluffy tanned head showing great retention and lacing capacities. The nose is sweet, fruity, gives notes of chocolate, plums, figs, and salted caramel. The taste is also sweet but not overwhelming. The fruitiness is dominant with the figs and plums upfront and sweet chocolate in the back. The body is full but very cloud-like all at once. Some expanding booze comes through the back of the palate. This beer is complex and enjoyable. A perfect addition to any cellar, you can let it age a few years to increase its flavor spectrum. Cheers!

There was quite a bit of smoke when I opened this beer. It pours a dark hazy brown with a medium sized off white head that had great retention and left some good lacing around the glass. The aroma is dark fruits, figs, raisins, alcohol, and some sugar. The taste is very similar to the aroma. I pick up the dark fruits, figs, plum, raisins, and some candy sugar mixed in there as well. The alcohol can be picked up in the flavor. The mouthfeel is on the heavy side and the drinkability is rather low. This beer is a sipper and not a gulper. This is not a bad beer and is worth a try but I think the Rochefort Trappistes 8 is a much more balanced beer than this one.

33cl bottle enjoyed @ home, 2011 bottle. Pours deep brown with some floaties, small off-white head. Aroma is massive with dried fruits, overripe fruit, nuts and raisins. Flavour is sweet malt and caramel. Full bodied, average carbonation. Finish is complex and long with plums, raisins and caramel dominating. I couldn’t taste or smell the yeast. Very vinous but that’s how I like it.
