COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The top product from the Rochefort Trappist brewery. Dark color, full and very impressive taste. Strong plum, raisin, and black currant palate, with ascending notes of vinousness and other complexities.

Dark, cloudy caramel brown with thin off white lacing. Cocoa nib, raisin and coffee on the nose. Rich, smooth palate...heavy on cocoa flavour, with hints of gingerbread, banana, clove, coffee, anise and raisin. Big, definitely a sipping beer. Wonderful.

Aroma: caramel, coffee, honey? Hint of Cinnamon Look: dark brown with good head about 1" Mouth: smooth and full Palate: coffee, toffee (caramel) and cinnamon. I'm not a big fan of malts and coffee stouts but overall I loved this one. A very good balance of flavors and you don't feel alcohol (at 11.3 % abv) a single bit. Highly recommended! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Barwa brązowa, mętna, piana bezowa, średnio pęcherzykowa, średnia i nietrwała. W aromacie przyjemne nuty Quadrupla, dość słodko, przewaga rodzynek, daktyli, fig, suszonych gruszek i moreli, są też nuty kandyzowanych owoców, karmelu, wina głogowego i gronowego. Smak szlachetny, pełny, dość owocowy, mniej słodki niż w aromacie, wyraźne nuty pumpernikla i przypraw, goryczka niska ziołowa, finisz likierowy, wino malaga. Nagazowanie średnie do wysokiego, dodające pijalności i zmniejszające uczucie ciężkości tego trunku. Tu leżakowanie zdecydowanie dodałoby temu trunkowi jeszcze większej głębi i bogactwa...

Dark brown color with white head. The smell is a little heavy with caramel and licorice notes. The carbonation strikes me as a bit too aggressive (it obviously gets a bit calmer after a while). The taste is less heavy than expected. Almost watery concerning the viscosity, the taste is far from watery. As expected, some coffee, chocolate, toffee and licorice . the taste is warming, as you would think, if you read the alcohol content on the lable. Still a nice beer, but not my favorite style, or my favorite beer of this style.

in my opinion, Belgium ’s finest brown beer without a doubt. So ritch in flavour, it’s a journey on it’s own.

Pours a mahogany brown with a dense tan head. Aromas are completely subdued by alcohol and a nasty bubblegum aroma. Taste is sweet and not much else. There is a long aftertaste, filled with hot esters, fusel alcohols and solvents. Mouthfeel is slightly fizzy, but still feels sticky.

Dark brown, white head, really little bubbles, stays to the end. Aroma of dried fruits (cherry, peach), raisins, caramel, some dark chocolate. Taste: medium sweet, light sour, more malts less fruits than in aroma, with dry fruity-alcoholic (like wine) finish. Full body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Overall: Great beer for sure, although expected more.

Appearance is large white head with a deep, unfiltered amber and some yeast. Aroma is a mix of alcohol, spice, and sweet malt. Taste is some sweet spice with a hit of alcohol. Overall right in the middle of the pack of Belgians for me.

11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a deep brown, like mahogany with a 1/2" thick tan head. Can see some yeast floating around in the liquid. Definitely some dried fruit aromas with a touch of sourness. Full bodied and a little sticky, the taste is on the sweet side. Lively carbonation on the tongue. The finish gets a little sour. Not noticing the alcohol taste, but there is a little warming after the swallow. Can’t find anything wrong about this one!

Flaska systembolaget. Mörkbrun kulör med beiget skum. Stor härlig doft. Knäck, plommon, russin, mandelmassa. Mycket komplex smak med äpple och russin. Fat, lite tobak och bränt socker. Söt med fin torr avslutning.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours murky dark brown with a lot of sediment and an off-white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma and flavour are dried fruit, malt, alcohol, and yeast - with a dry finish.
