4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is one great smelling, fabulous tasting beer. It’s probably the most chocolatey beer I’ve ever had and it shows remarkable balance with a very subtle sweetness and just enough bitterness. The head is not impressive at all, detracting a little, but otherwise a stellar beer, and easily one of my favorites. Another win for dieu du ciel!

Wow, really nice stout. Thick black pour with a khaki ring. Aroma is root beer, vanilla, oak, and bourbon. Taste brings more chocolate and roastiness. Well balanced and very creamy mouthfeel. Perfect dessert beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Black as night pour with lighter brown highlights along the edges. A white foam head formed but almost instantly retreated to a ring around the glass. Smells of coffee, roast, tobacco ash, and chocolate rise from the brew. Taste is of roasted coffee beans and bittersweet chocolate with a hint of vanilla. Medium bodied in nature with a slight creamy mouthfeel from the light carbonation. Aphrodisiaque is a delightful stout that I would love to indulge in again!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
This was poured into a nonic.
The appearance was a nice looking black color with a thin white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than twenty seconds. Stringy lacing wove around the glass.
The smell had a strong roasty coffee bean and chocolate to sweet vanilla with an underscore of dark fruits.
The taste possessed the strong roasty coffee bean and amplified the sweet level of chocolate to lead into the aftertaste and stroll right on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a good sessionable aspect about it. There was a nice roasty and slightly bitter quality rolling over my tongue.
Overall, this was a very good American Stout that has a lot going on. I would definitely have it again.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Not what I expected. The last "chocolate stout" I had was Flying Monkeys’ Chocolate Manifesto (which I loved), so I figured this would be along the same lines of intensely sweet, chocolatey goodness. Not so - this really did come across with more of a true stout character - roasty, bitter coffee notes along with vanilla and -yes- chocolate, but in its bittersweet form. Truly delicious, would be wonderful paired with chocolate cheesecake, or as a complement to pears soaked in brandy. Yummy.

Almost perfect beer in my opinion. Perfect for dessert. Dominant chocolate scent with a touch of vanilla. Color is almostnpitch black, no light passing through it. Pretty sweet taste of cocoa, coffee and vanilla. One of my all-time favorite !

This is now my go-to stout. Dark brown pour, with a medium tan head, good lacing. Well balanced flavor of roasted malts, with notes of coffee, vanilla, cocoa. Smooth finish.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pouring oil to my glass, thin brown head is creamy and long, good lacing. Mild sweet aroma, dark chocolate and cocoa like add says, lightly roasted malt. Round and soft, bitter roasted, medium body, long roasted finish with chocolate and cocoa and vanilla there balancing. Great dessert, well-done beer, great flavors, roasting balancing from getting overly sweet, nice :)
