4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 RedXIII (127) - Powell, USA - JAN 30, 2009
Pours like any perfect Imperial Stout. It is pitch black, thick, with a dark mahogany head. Aroma is pure coffee and nothing else. Flavor is huge, with a coffee and dark chocolate body, finished with a bitter sweet burnt/toasted malt. This and the oak aged Yeti are amongst the tops in their class.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 VonClausewitz (3) - Bologna, ITALY - MAY 30, 2012 does not count

Go to imperial stout. Busted open a bottle from last year for breakfast this morning. Chocolatey awesomeness has mellowed a bit as have the hops but was smoother than the cheerios i ate with it. Incredibly good and easily available. Me like.

Pours black with a finger tan head. Smell is chocolate and cherry. Taste is red fruit and chocolate, burnt ash. Light to medium body for a stout, drinkable, lighter mouthfeel. Good.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 solidfunk (656) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 27, 2012
This is excellence in all kind of ways. Pours with a mocha head, almost pink-tinged in the dimly lit room I’m in. Tracing shows arcane divination patterns. Taste has booze, anise, raisins, cacao and coffee. Palate is mad heavy. Initial smell has sweetness booze and chocolate. Hops as well. Can’t find much of the citrus in here yet, but maybe as it warms up. Bottle from Consumer bevvies in Niagara USA...... By the way, half a bottle later I feel like I can taste the citrus.

Bottle at home 26th May 2012. Aroma is expresso and dark chocolate, beer pours deep black. The taste is full on chocolate, liquorice and leather, burnt and smokey. This is my type of Imperial Stout, perfect mouth feel and carbonation, smooth and thick, delicious.

Pours a dark thick black appearance with a two finger dark brown head. Aroma of smokey roasted malts, hops and chocolate. Taste follows the nose. Wow is this hoppy, a little two hoppy for a stout in my opinion. Bitter with an aftertaste that hangs around. Pretty good but not in my top five impy stouts
4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 Garlic_of_Doom (11) - SWEDEN - MAY 18, 2012
Bottle from Systembolaget.
Pours thick and black with a tiny head that dissolves fast.
Smells like chocolate, a bit hoppy? (Got a bit of a cold atm so my senses are a bit off)
Taste of chocolate, coffee, cherries in liquour, roasted notes. Medium carbonated and full bodies.
Long, nice, bitter aftertase.

Light smell, beautiful oily pour, brown foam. Roasted, almost smoky taste, lots of coffee. A great stout!

bottle at home, from my MTH glass Pours dense black, with a medium tan head, lacing is spotty to good. Nose is tart molasses, smoke, licorice, black chocolate. Flavours of tart chocolate, a bit lactic, smoky, very chewy. Hmmm... This is the same tartness I’ve found in other versions of Yeti, but it is much less offensive in the standard Yeti than in say the Espresso version. Solid.
3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 11, 2012
The first beer on my 4th July American beer evening(2008). Poured into a ’Forbidden Fruit’ chalice.
Darker than a dark night on a moonless hill, a deep tan coloured head sat on top of the smouldering body. The head however soon left leaving a thin collar around the glass.
The aroma was of rich fruitcake, slightly burnt or overcooked, baked plums were also in the smell.
The taste was of dry burnt caramel, with the hops adding to the dryness. As the beer warmed, it appeared to lose some of its dryness, but it was still pretty dry to me.
Over hopped and to much alcohol for me. I am no expert on Imperial Stouts, but if this typical, then they obviously aren’t my cup of tea.
