4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Lovely malty aroma. Chocolate, molasses, coffee.
Really intense roastiness and coffee. Lots of hops - bitter, awesome. Strips the palate. Quite acidic.
This beer is awesome.

Very enjoyable. Deceptively smooth at such a high abv. I like the oatmeal version even better.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours dark-chocolate black with mocha-color, persistent, creamy head. Gobs of dark chocolate on the nose, all the way through the entry, middle, and finish palate. Overall, hides its 9.5% ABV beautifully, with no cloying alcohol heat or sweetness.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle. Pitch black with a creamy brown head. Flavors are dark/milk chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, licorice, caramel, ashes, alcohol and resinous hops with herbal and fruity notes. Full body, soft carbonation, oily texture.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at home. Poured a clear dark brown with red tinge when seen in the light. No head to speak of, but it is dark tan. Smells of coffee and roast. Tastes like coffee with fair sweetness and bitterness. Low on bubbles. Calming and satisfying.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml bottle poured in a snifter glass.
A: Pours a opaque black oil color forming a big creamy tan head with reasonable retention and many many lacings left
S: Smell is a perfume of roasted malts. Brown sugar, dark chocolate, coffee and earthy hops. Alcohol in the very end
T: Follows the nose. Delicious roasted taste mixed with refreshing herby and grassy hops. Again, brown sugar, roasted malts (yeah a lot! :)). Dark chocolate and coffee to complete. In overall a dry beer with a bit sweet upfront. Aftertaste is really roasted and bitter
M: Heavy and deliciously creamy. Very biscuity. Medium carbonation. Absolutely delicious bitter aftertaste
O: Excellent imperial stout.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Velvety smooth like a marshmallow going down a water slide (?!). Uncharacteristicly hoppy at first followed by a roast coffee finish. This beer loves up to its legendary status.

Julie does not like the 2013 version. It is too smokey. V.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thick dark black with very little brown head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Flavor has a good bit of coffee bitterness. Warms the gut a little.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Although I prefer more chocolatey/milky stouts to coffee ones, this is an ideal imperial stout nonetheless! Perfectly viscous, thick, oily liquid that is jet black with a great thick brown foamy head. Taste is extremely rich and creamy. Coffee, toffee, roasted caramel throughout. Sweet. Excellent brew!
