Bready, slightly-off over-ripe tropical fruit aroma. Color is slightly murky yellow with a one-finger white head. Taste is really not bad. Slight tropical fruitiness, malt sweetness, mild hops bitterness. Very generic, but certainly not bad to the point of a 17, its current score. Perhaps I got lucky? From my local Trader Joe’s. I don’t want to have it again, but it’s definitely not bad.

Bottle pours gold cloudy with white head. Aroma is slight fruit with malt. Very little other flavors. Taste is light DMS, caramel. Very astringently bitter. Like chewing asprin.

Bottle from Trader Joe’s in Cambridge, drank it at home. Aroma is light bready malts. Flavor is white bread crust, stale apple cider, and a weird oaky tannin flavor. Astringent and unpleasant bitter finish.

355ml bottle, most generic label art. More of a pale ale than an amber ale. Gold pour. Nealry no smell, slight citrus. ITs creamier, basic cascade flavors, decently balanced. Non-descript but not horrible.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2014 12 oz. bottle from Trader Joe’s. Sort of an earthy, resinous flavor with good carbonation over a nice malt base. This won’t break any records but it is decent and pretty well balanced. High ABV seems needless. Other than that, I enjoyed this brew.

12 oz can. (Trader Joe’s) Greenville, SC.
Clear golden colour with a small frothy white head. The aroma is sweet candy hoppy with mild bitterness and malt. The flavour is mild bitterness, quite bad hops and alcohol. Not a nice one. Cheap.

tastes more like a pale, and a fairly boring one at that. the good thing is, it’s less than a dollar to try a single, so if you don’t like it...there’s no risk."

Anyone who is not turned of by the packaging on this bottle is insane. That being said, this is a decent beer. It is a style I like that many don’t which is a rather mildly hopped blond or pale ale that is clearly American in origin but not matching the APA or IPA style at all. It is clear orange yellow in color w/ a long lasting head of very fine and even sized bubbles. Nose is a touch of grassy hops and some fresh malt character, sort of very vaguely reminding me of a German helles only with a fruity ale yeast background. Taste is simple w/ a touch of malt sweetness blanced by a touch of bitterness. Honestly, if this was four percent alcohol I be jumping for joy but this is over seven percent and in no way justifies that extra alcohol content w/ extra flavor. I am all for seeing more mild styles from craft brewers who these days seem obsessed w/ hops and sours and big stouts but I’d like for those beers to be low and alcohol and drinkable as well.

Not all that exciting. Good beer for a buck at Trader Joe's but that's about the extent of it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fat Weasel Ale has a thin, white head, a clear, bubbly, golden appearance, and a good amount of lacing left behind. The aroma is of pungent, semi-sweet bread crust, vegetable oil, and some hop resin. Taste is of sweet, white bread crust, moss, malt, and nice hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium and somewhat slick, and Fat Weasel Ale finishes semi-dry, easy drinking, and delicious. Only a bit of the alcohol shines through. RJT
