11.2oz Bottle @ 50º into 17.5oz Stölzle Berlin; Pours up extremely deep brown flashing a cranberry red hue when illuminated, large rocky saturated khaki head providing a few minutes of heavy retention and settling to a lasting sheet with horizontal peninsulas of lace; aromas and flavors are a pleasant balance of sweet and bitter from a wide range of fruits, light spice, chocolate, and roast delivered on a creamy medium body with well controlled carbonation; as this warms, the earthy woody fig and fall leaves pick up along with darker fruit to step in front of the chocolate and roast; pretty nice

Definitely very Belgian-like, more so than expected. It was quite fruity and not too burnt. Not bad, but was more like Leffe Brune than a stout with Belgian overtones.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home. Pours ruby red with a long lasting light-brown frothy head. Aroma really sweet, fruity and hoppy. Taste of malt, hops, sugar and all sorts of fruits. Very sweet with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Reminds me a bit of Chimay Bleu, but sweeter and fruitier. Not bad, but I think I’d prefer a Chimay. ;-)
