Dark amber / brown with a foamy head. Roasted malts, coffee and cream, a bit of red fruits, some alcohol. Full body and a medium creamy finish. Very enjoyable although not very complex.

330ml bottle. Clear dark chestnut color. Small size, brown head, stays. Roast, dusty, sweet, mild caramel, chocolate in aroma. Chocolate, roast, slightly metallic, prunes in taste. Soft carbonation. Chocolate roast in aftertaste. Alcohol is very well hidden. Nice one!

Bottle 75cl. Almost black witha beige head. Mild coffee, chicolate aroma. Relative thin body for the type of beer. Don’t expect a heavy rich stout. This is an easy to drink stout, where the choice of yeast might be the reason for giving it a trappist twist. Father short finish.

Decent strong ale. Aroma dominated by malty sweet smell, common in bok beers. Appearance is excellent, with a bold dark color and frothy 2 to 3 finger head. Taste is dominated by dark malty flavors, with some caramel sweetness. Palate is ok, a bit dry and bitter aftertaste. Creaminess medium, but not great. Overall a decent ale, but nothing overly remarkable about it.

33 cl bottle from Wine of Galilee in Tallinn (€ 2.40). BB 2017. Translucent reddish brown colour. Head massive with excellent, very thick sexy stocking-like lacing. Retains. Looks stunning! Nose is delicately sweet recalling sugared dark fruits and molasses... chocolaty + alcoholic, later on it gets more icky sweet, much like flavoured cola. Taste is sugary sweet with notes of dark fruits and chocolate, and in mid-taste and finish some faint hoppy bitterness and red berry sourness. Body low medium, carbonation way flatter than average. Would’ve preferred a more crisp carbonation and less a chocolaty effect. Seems overly sweet to me, but overall it’s still pretty good. A dessert beer for those not craving for an Impy Stout.

I had this one after the the Troubadour Westkust and unfortunately the comparison is not really in favour of that one, the Westkust being amazing... So I thought it was very good but clearly not as complex as its sister... Also a cola nose which I found a bit disturbing...

Aroma: caramel, grain and bread malts, quite intense, some spices in the background. Appearance: hazy, dark brown, medium, creamy, beige head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: lively carbonation, malty sweets continue, lightly toasted malts, heavy grain, bread and caramel, some spices, medium to heavy body. Overall: nice Belgian Strong Ale, quite a nice palate. Bottle from Beers of Europe, Kings Lynn.

Bomber from Supermarket Liquors; 2013 vintage. Appearance: 4 fingers tan head, brown color, cloudy, good lacing, head lasts.Aroma:molasses, chocolate, earthy, light floral hops, light dark fruit. Palate: medium full body, average carbonation, thin alcoholic texture, light dry finish. Taste: sweet malty molasses and chocolate, with light dark fruity sweetness, into a bit of booziness, finishing with light backbone of floral hops. Very nice, good balance unique.
