Pours amber with a beige head and aroma of malt, honey, and fruits. Flavor is interesting, sweet and smokey with notes of fruit, vanilla, and malts with a whiskey taste. Good, drinkable and interesting brew.

Pours honey colored with a very honorable head, which is slow to dissipate if poured correctly. No haze with a handsome appearance. Carbonation is light. Sweet malty taste with hints of vanilla and toffee. Alcohol masked very well, finish is short, a bit dry. Very drinkable because of its sweetness. A very different ale worth trying. Quaff score ( drinkability with heart enjoyment ) 7 / 10

Poured into an English pint glass from a 11.2 ounce bottle with no freshness date. A: Crystal clear amber almost brown body with almost no head, the head that was there was light tan. Doesn’t stand out at all. S: Huge oak on the first smell, but it opens up nicely to a nice blend of vanilla and toffee. Very inviting and enjoyable. T: The taste is a nice balance between the strong oak flavors and the vanilla, toffee is lighter than the other two. This is a nice warming beer! M: Full bodied with nice light, but sharp, carbonation. O: There’s nothing spectacular about this, but it’s simply a very nice warm and inviting beer. This would be excellent on Christmas with the family.

Bottle 330ml from Dan Murphy’s. Great aged ale. Aromas of pine, resin, vanilla, caramel, and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, with long length. Palate is syrupy and full bodied. Amber, with a thin head.

330ml bottle poured into a nonic. Appearance is a clear medium gold with a quick head that flares up and then goes away. No lacing. Smells overwhelmingly of butterscotch. There is some vanilla along with this odd funky sour cheese smell. Flavor is quite buttery along with caramel, wood, and vanilla. There is a good bit of sweetness tying all of this together but hardly any bitterness at all. Alcohol is also detectable which is odd for a beer of this strength. Overall this isn’t that great of a beer. It is too sweet without anything to balance it out. Glad I got to try it, though.
