COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 500ml bottle into a tall weizen glass. The abv is listed on the back label (5.1%) but there is no freshness date. Appearance: The body has an orange/yellow color with a cloudy haze and some visible carbonation. On top I got a thick and creamy off white head. It is long lasting and makes slick lace ring which slowly slide down the sides of the glass. Smell: The aroma has notes of sweet bubble gum and banana peel with just a light touch of wheat malt. Taste/Palate: The flavor is not as sweet as the aroma foreshadowed. Tangy wheat meets the tongue first with a light clove banana yeast notes following. A touch of citrus and spicy/leafy hops leads into the finish which is crisp and fairly dry. The firm medium body has plenty of active carbonation give it a lively snappy texture. Notes: I love the texture and finish on this beer. Some German Hefeweizen beers get a little to slick on the palate but this one is crisp and feels alive with carbonation. Overall this is an outstanding Hefeweizen.

It pours a cloudy yellow color with a white head. There are aromas of banana, vanilla, wheat, and lemon. There are flavors of banana and lemon with plenty of wheat flavor. There is a sweet character to it which has hints of citrus flavors. It has a mostly light feel to it.

At Maakun’s. Bottle shared. Hazy pale golden with foamy white head. Grainy, fruity, banana, lemon, chalk, light salt, minerals, sugar replacement. Under medium sweet, light bitter, 1 grain of salt and a drop of lemon juice. Under medium body, feels slick and minerallike as well. Mealy feel. Quite dry. Medium carbonation.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Cloudy straw with big white head that leaves a thin film. Quite fruity with peach and banana, dough, lemon, dry flour, miso. Light sweet and even lighter bitterness, quite light in the taste overall. Under medium bodied with slightly dry feel and quite some carbonation.

Originally rated on 8/31/08. Rather dark and cloudy for a hefe, brau- weisse none the less is a pretty decent beer. The head is small and disapates quickly. Aroma of banana but not overwhelming as described above. Mouthfeel is decent and it has a crisp finish, flavors of wheat and nicely balanced spices. Not my favorite hefe but pretty good and its worth a try.

In bottiglia. Colore giallo pesca opalescente torbido. Schiuma fragile e frizzante, di rapida dissolvenza. Buon naso di lievito, banana, spezie e vaniglia. Carbonazione flat, piacevolmente solleticante.

50cl bottle. Pale yellow pour, hazy, with a tall white head that gives way to a sticky lacing. Smells like bananas, white bread, yeast and honey. Sweet taste, with notes of bananas, oranges, yeast and honey.

Good looking hazy yellow/orange with creamy big head. Strong but soft carbonation. Aroma is citrus, yeast, bread, clove and a bit of banana. Fresh overall. Taste is moderatly sweet with notes of grains. Gets a bit dry like banana skin and mellow citrus juice. Overall refreshing and surprisingly not soapy. Me likey.
