COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 500ml bottle into a tall weizen glass. The abv is listed on the back label (5.1%) but there is no freshness date. Appearance: The body has an orange/yellow color with a cloudy haze and some visible carbonation. On top I got a thick and creamy off white head. It is long lasting and makes slick lace ring which slowly slide down the sides of the glass. Smell: The aroma has notes of sweet bubble gum and banana peel with just a light touch of wheat malt. Taste/Palate: The flavor is not as sweet as the aroma foreshadowed. Tangy wheat meets the tongue first with a light clove banana yeast notes following. A touch of citrus and spicy/leafy hops leads into the finish which is crisp and fairly dry. The firm medium body has plenty of active carbonation give it a lively snappy texture. Notes: I love the texture and finish on this beer. Some German Hefeweizen beers get a little to slick on the palate but this one is crisp and feels alive with carbonation. Overall this is an outstanding Hefeweizen.

Father’s Day beer with Dad #4. Had this in the bottle before, but don’t remember it being as tasty as the brew I had on draft at The Brick Store the other day. Pours a hazy yellow with a thick white head. Scent is grainy and fizzy. Flavor is slightly sweet with the citrusy tart tones that makes me love a good Hefe Weizen. Bubbly. Ayinger Bräuweisse sticks to its style to deliver a very good but standard wheat beer. Aroma is of fruit and fresh yeast emanating from a fluffy white head. Color is the expected cloudy yellow. Banana and light fruit flavors come through in the taste buy nothing dominant. Finishes clean and dry. Bräuweisse fills the role of a decent Hefeweizen but is not particularly outstanding.

What a cool brew. Thanks, Harold, for sharing. Aroma was very nice. Cotton candy, bubblegum, banana, some light cinnamon and vanilla. Very fruity. Flavors were similar with nice banana and light spices. Fruity, not too sweet, and very drinkable. Great!

Beer has a nice colour. Great flavour. Like Belgian white, weizzen taste the best when its very cool served. I like the sparkle.

Bottle. Two tone clear yellow colour, high carbonation, big white head. Very attractive. Taste - some fruit esters, some spice. Good wheat beer, but not stand-out.

Unclear, slightly yellow, almost white wheat beer, and a modest foam top. It has the aroma of bananas, so it is nice and fresh. In the beginning, it tastes a little bit bitter, but soon enough, this turns into a fresh, banana like aftertaste. Nice fresh wheat beer! Lekker fris witbier!

Pours a beautiful golden yellow beer with a good white head. Smells like bananas. Tastes also banana. Palate is ok.

I’m not sure about this one. It’s not really that special i think. It’s not a typical white beer. It doesn’t have that typical banana bread base like most have. The most i get is grain, a lot. It actually spoils the beer. I can’t figure out the other flavors, maybe some vanilla and orange in the finish. It’s quite watery. Flavor balance is a bit weird i think. Not my cup of beer.

50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ the local Albert Heijn. Hazy yellow with a huge dense white head. Wheat, citrus, banana and some vanilla in the aroma. Good weizen taste with a long aftertaste. Carbonation is gentle. Great hefeweizen.
