Draft @ de Paas. Black colour with a tanned head. Great aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts and some vanilla in the background. Incredible full flavour of the roasted bitterness and the chocolate and vanilla sweetness, all blended together and waking me up dead. Great beer, too bad it was a one time only.

Man was I dissapointed here! On tap at 20 tap Broadripple, Indiana. Pours a black syrup with a HINT of brown.. smell is subtle sweet .. And the taste completely knocks you sideways. An immediate sour taste so much so you can almost Consider it a sour ale. Ew. Not my style when it comes to a "stout". Little very little smokiness if anything to say good about it is came from Colorado so I respect the origin of the beer.

Pours dark brown with a thin brown head. Nose is complex and changes as the beer warms. Initial impression: licorice, burnt toast, coffee, segueing into an earthy note. I get oak as it opens up, and then cherry. The oak comes through more later and eventually dominates. Malty sweetness on the front of the tongue and bitter on the back. Thick, syrupy body with a lingering chalkiness. A sipping beer. Quite good.

The pour is dark brown to charcoal black with a moderate tan head and good lacing. There is plenty of aroma with dark malts, coffee, and a sharp hop note. The body is thinner than many stouts but still pushing medium-heavy. I get this really pungent bitterness in the taste along with coffee grinds. I am not sure if I would put this in my Top 10 Impy Stouts but it is decent nonetheless.

The pour is a fairly dark brown color with a finger of khaki colored head. What a truly strange aroma. There’s a bit of coffee and chocolate in there, but also some butter and a definite grassiness. Maybe a bit of smoke in there, too. It smells quite dusty, too. Oh wow, that flavor is bad. Sort of sour and acrid with bad coffee and chocolate flavors. There’s a hint of smoke, maybe some wood, and a bit of ash and cigarette. Not good at all. Medium body with a medium level of carbonation.

22oz. Bottle: Got in trade from Phaleslu; THANKS Peter! Aroma of malt, chocolate, slight caramel, slight roasting, and a tiny hint of Bourbon barrel. Poured very dark brown/slight burnt sienna in color with a small, creamy, dense, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Lightly sparkling. Opaque. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of malt, smoke, light chocolate, slight smoked meat, toffee, burnt notes, roasting, light wood, and caramel. Medium body. Slightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, wood, caramel, light chocolate, toasted, roasted finish. 10.2%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Draught, The Sheffield Tap. Dense black, tan head. Creamy and smooth. Intense aroma, prune, resin, raisin, more resin. Chocolate and coffee in the background, but hop intensity wins. Sweet, thick, some woody whiskey provides support. Then a long resin infused ending. Amazing.
