COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Pours dark amber with a creamy head and great lacing. Grassy notes off the top and a medium body with a smooth texture that slides across the palate perfectly. a long, slightly bitter finish. Well-founded and full-bodied...everything a great IPA should be!

Keg at BD ShepBush. Clear deep red pour, cream head, not much lace. Nose of caramel, orange, grapefruit, resin. Tastes medium sweet, caramel, cinder toffee, medium bitter, seville orange, grapefruit, floral, resin. Medium body, moderate carb, oily, longish bittersweet finish. Very nice, not flashy or especially punchy but super drinkable.

Almost transparent deep amber colour, beige creamy head. Piny, resinous and tropical fruity nose and taste, sweet caramel and toffee, roasted malts, spicy, English tea. Dry and bitter, tea-like lingering aftertaste. Relatively light body but good flavours, medium carbonation, soft mouthfeel.

Peut-on la nommer Red IPA? Mousse 1/2’’ très dense. Bon maintient. Belle dentelle.

Thick white head atop the red liquid. Rich, caramel body balanced with piney, earthy hops. Fairly sweet for an IPA but bitter & luscious all the same. Rated by BrewTom

From Craftissimo. Warm translucent brown with small creamy off-white head and loads of sudsy lacing. Smells very malty. Toasted cereal, straw, spice, bit of pear, toffee. Taste is spicy malt, moderate bitterness, dry bitter finish. Something about it tastes a little musty and unfresh. Body is medium and very fizzy. Nice aroma but taste is only so-so. Very malty for an IPA.

Bottle from Bottledog in London at home. Dark copper pour with minimal but sticky head. Aroma is very red ale - sweet maltiness but with spicy and then floral hops. Taste is a bit unusual - very deeply bitter but balanced by red ale-esque ("copper"-tasting) maltiness. Very malty, actually. Palate is normal with a strongish carbonation. Dry, slightly sweet finish. Solid but not great.
