In the bottle thanks to hurrisnow. Black with a creamy thick off white head. Smooth body with a silky chocholate flavor. Carob flavors. Great stout.

On tap @ Sergios World Beers. Pours opaque black with a tall tan head. Roast aroma with some toasty notes in the aroma. Full-bodied mouthfeel, rich roasty, malty, chocolately flavors with an underlying sweetness. Long finish of all those flavors. One not to pass up.

Pours out black with a small tan head. Aroma is slightly sweet, with notes of coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is similar to the aroma, chocolate with a creamy vanilla taste also present. Pretty damn good.

Batch #9376 bottled September 30, 2009. Poured a very dark brown, almost black with a hint of orange highlights around the edge of the glass. There was a tall creamy light brown head that gave some nice lacing. The aroma was mild, with scents of sweet chocolate and coffee. The texture of the beer was not creamy to me, but more of a thin dry stout. There was a mild coffee flavor and some chocolate. It ended with a dry finish with a mellow bitterness. I prefer the Kalamazoo Stout and think it is sweeter and smoother than this. This is still a nice beer.

Pours a jet black hue with a guinness-like tan thick head and light lacing on the glass. Nose is chocolate, coffee, roasty with faint hints of anise and dark fruits. Flavor is full-on chocolate-forward malts with big roastiness and backing tones of coffee, slight esters and anise in the semi-sweet and bitter finish. Full body, smooth creamy texture, mild carbonation. A smooth and easy drinking stout that excels in texture and sweet malt profile, an easy and flavorful drinker through and through!

12 oz bottle. Interested by the ratebeer description of being sweeter and smoother than the Kalamazoo stout. Pours an opaque black with a small tan head. Smells of sugary chocolate, a hint of roasted coffee, and cream. The taste is light chocolate, a hint of coffee in the backbone, some sugar, and creamy-ness. Very smooth going down, but not much character to it. Not bad, but I think I prefer Kalamazoo stout over it, and greatly appreciate Expedition stout as far as Bells’ stouts are concerned.

12 oz. Extra from BeerBaron 420. Nice creamy stout. Dark black tan ring yadda yadda yadda. Taste is oats and dark fruit. Not overly rich or thick. Rather light in the mouth for such a formitable looking brew. Coffee and cocoa are there.

This beer pours a black tan head with some really nice lacing. Smel of coffee, chocolate, carmael, and smoke. Flavor is caramel, chocolate, coffee with a nutty finish. A very good beer.
