4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 tedovertu (267) - Apple Valley, USA - JAN 14, 2009
Dark almost black color with very small tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate with roasted coffee. I love the balance of this beer. A perfect mixture of hops and malts. Oily texture that creates an awesome mouth feel. Bells Brewery rarely disappoints.

Sweet milk stout with slight roastiness. The mouthfeel was fizzy, even after warming up; never gave me the smooth feel I expected. The flavor just didn’t come out on this beer.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2012 Thanks to Roy’s Liquors in Ft. Pierce, FL. for supplying this one the last 6-7 months. Aroma is heavenly: chocolate, slight coffee and roasted malt. Appearance is pretty black with minimal head. Taste goes right along with the aroma: malty with minimal bitterness and it’s not heavy or light on the palate. Some reviews have this tasting thin, but I disagree. Other members of my family love this one, even my mother! Take it for what it is: a great tasting stout with decent drinkability. Highly recommended!

Bottle from Ryan - thanks! Black pour with a froth of tan foam that quickly fades to a slick. Aroma is dry roast, chocolate (both bitter and creamy soft), light coffee, and some background hops. Taste is pleasant sweet chocolate with a contrasting dry roast and bitterness. Just a bit of malt sweetness underneath the roast and a touch of hop bitterness toward the finish. Clean and creamy mouthfeel. It’s a Bell’s stout - it’s awesome as expected!
