Bottle picked up at Whole Foods in DC a bit back. Served in a Jolly Pumpkin tulip.
Pours an amber-brown with a thin off-white head that falls fairly quickly and leaves a thin collar. The nose brings a bit of light lactic acid and some cherry. A bit of cherry pit and mild oak. The flavor really pushes on from there with some nice lactic presence as well as cherry and cherry pit. Oak is good. Really nice. Mouthfeel is crisp and acidic with a dry finish. Impressive. Another winner from JP.
3.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Rodriguez (84) - Quito, ECUADOR - FEB 2, 2012
Hazy deep amber, small beige head retention, medium carbonation, fruity sour aroma and taste. Sweetness, bitterness, sourness and alcohol in perfect balance. I had a flashback of a lambic faro, kind of similar. Excellent beer, I want to try more of La Roja brewery. Drank it all the 750ml bottle by myself :P

750 ML bottle at Nocturnem Draft Haus. Pours a ruby color with a thin head. The aroma is sour, Taste is quite complex with some nuttiness that is overtaken by the tartness at the end. Also, the oak comes through and gives it an almost wine like character. This was my brief foray into sours, and its just not my style. While I can appreciate it, it was just average at best for me overall as a beer.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jwr07 (16) - Georgia, USA - JAN 23, 2012
Fantastic sour aroma, but either the oak or the age (6 months) or both has mellowed the taste out a bit. I wish it were more sour fruit and less oak, but a delectable offering overall.

Dark coppery reddish brown with a huge foamy tan head. Powerfully sour with a deep and somewhat dark fruitiness. Cherry, strawberry, oak, and caramel. Strong and one to drink slowly.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Benjii (1675) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 15, 2012
In bottle at home. Pours a beautiful amber colour with a thick beige head. Aroma of alcohol, pickled onions and candy sugar. Similar Bretty flavours with a whole lot of oak and some wet cardboard. Quite bitter and dry to finish. Mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Alcohol is fairly present. Really interesting.
