Perfect balance of high-alpha hops and malts. Tasty treat, but don’t leave one of these out for Santa or he’ll probably crack his head on the chimney on his way up!

Fizzy carbonated opalesquent amber bodied brew with a whipped-creamy and lasting eggshell coloired head. Fresh hoppy nose and aroma with honey, caramel, flowers, resin and gently alcohol. It finishes lingering and warming escorted by citrusses, spices and alcohol, Nicely balanced and enjoyable.

Bottle: 2008 tasted at 4 years: pours a hazy copper color with a big fluffy light tan head. Strong, sweet spicy aroma. It’s got flavors of sweet malt. The hoppiness is almost gone, but a bit of the floral notes are still there. I have one more bottle of 2008 that I will save, but I am going to say this is best at three years or fresh. 5/4/4/3/10 2.6

Rated from 12 ounce bottle purchased a few months back at BevMo in Carmel Mountain ($15.99 for the 12-pack). Pours a somewhat cloudy dark amber color with two fingers of fluffy eggshell head. Aroma of spicy wet hops, light citrus, flowers, cut grass, and caramel. Flavor has a nice earthy hoppiness to it with notes of herbs, citrus, some pine, and spicy-tangy hops. Very well balanced with a countering honey-caramel maltiness in the flavor. Finishes lightly bitter with some honey sweetness. Always happy to see when this is released each year. (2670, 701)

Pours a golden amber color with a two finger head that sticks around to leave impressive lacing. Aroma of citrus and piney hops, with malts as an afterthought. Taste follows the nose, the hops really shine in this beer, fresh and crisp. This is a smooth and refreshing beer. Screw seasonal, make this all year!

0.35l bottle. Dark orange - light amber color with a light beige head. Some malty aroma with quite bit of grassy, hoppy notes. Really intense hoppyness and some caramel and honey that make the taste complex.

0,35l bottle from csakajósör, Budapest. Hazy, light amber color with medium off-white head. Resiny odor with some caramel malt flavour. Extremly hoppy aroma with flowers, citrus fruits, resin and honey. It’s fresh, lively and agressive. Some caramel malt also appears. Dry, medium bitter taste. Light body with creamy texture and lively carbonation. Dry, hoppy finish. Very delicious beer, well hopped, refreshing, light, but intensive.

Taste’s like bread, hop is floral, grass, herbs, yeast had a basement aromas, in the middle i feel raisin wood, and the end is very bitter, long finish. The fresh hop is the next generation of the imperial IPAs.

One of my first big IPA’s, ten years back. I couldn’t wait till next winter to rate it. Strong pine aroma with muted grapefruit notes. Very bitter, more so than the listed 65 BUs, and almost tart. Deep orange with crystalline suspension. Heavy starchy feel, though I wouldn’t say it ’s a harsh drinker. One of the world’s best IPA’s back in the day, it still stacks up pretty well.
