08/02/2012 Bir&Fud Bottega (Vintage 2008). Ambrata, viva, abbastanza limpida, schiuma biancastra, poco abbondante e poco persistente. Corpo pieno, buona carbonazione. Nonostante i quattro anni, scalcia ancora parecchio.

2009 bottle c/o Secret Santa 2011! Slightly gushy; pours a ruddy orange and red color with a medium-sized ultra-creamy orange and tan head with long retention. Beautiful. Aromas of sharp, tart cherry, yeast, buttery oak, Chardonnay, and sour fruit. The flavor is sweet initially, with sugared plum and orangepeel and cherry. This moves to sour cherry and buttery oak. The finish is tart and fruity, with sugar cane. Very creamy, with low carbonation and a rich mouthfeel. Awesome. This is really fucking nice. [917]

Bottle, 2009. Pours a clear cherry color. Smells of fruit, red berries, and some sour aspects. Tastes sweet, a bit like molasses initially, with a full body and syrupy texture with plenty of fruit. Cinnamon. Cherry. Brown sugar. Really quite tasty, though probably not one I?d go to regularly.

2009 Bottle. Poured copper with a thin off-white head. Aromas of dark fruit, vanilla, and light spice. The flavor found dark fruits, oak, cedar, cherry, and light spices. Medium body, smooth, sweet, sticky, and a light lingering alcohol.

Batch 2008 thx dearly to ¾ Burnt orange color very small head. The initial smell is oxidized then custard apple, mamey sapote. Rich sweet intense high caloric tropical fruit and the flavors are also fruity but different there is more acidity, grapefruit, bitter orange. So much I’m getting hit over the head, in a good way, is totally unique not like any other beer I’ve had...and weird rating a beer like this...dry tannin in finish is white sherry from barrel! Batch 64 rb edition, also thx dearly to ¾ is darker than other batch, red orange, chestnut auburn brown type color, nice oxidized character, charred pineapple. Woody finish but more muddled than other one, but still has fun grapefruit in finish just more subtle and balanced and integrated. I preferred the 2008.

Medium amber-brown. The aroma is very barrelly, with a lot of vanilla and a little bit of caramel. Rich and full of barrel and chocolate. Dessert, and with with peachy esters as well. Smooth finish, very rounded and stylish. Great beer.

2008 vintage, courtesy 3/4. Hazy amber with a nice, thin head. The aroma is full of oak, vanilla, rich malts, hints of chocolate...quite complex. At once smokey sweet like barbeque sauce, rich malty barley wine, hop and alcohol dryness, oaky finish...even some light fruits. Serious business, a great beer with a lot of subtlety. Smooth full body...great brew, just goes on and on. 8 3 9 5 18 =4.3

12oz bottle split into Danish samples with the DC crew. Unfiltered orange-tan with a foamy off-white head. This is really quite nice, the oak barrel really balances it out and adds some depth. Some orange-liqueur tones, Pretty solid beer, expert execution.
