Piraat is a wickedly rich and rounded brew that packs a mighty punch. The powerful glow builds up from inside. Deep golden with a subtle haze. Lots of hops and malt. Mild sweetness. Reminiscent of bread dough, spices and tropical fruits.

750 ml bottle into a trappist glass. Wow, the cork nearly took my damn head off. Pours a hazy burnt orange with a yellow/amber glow. There is a finger of frothy white head and nice lacing. Beautiful beer. Aroma is dough, barnyard yeast, banana, clove, lemons, white pepper, and sharp spices. Taste is bread, clove, banana, lemon, candi sugar, mild grassy hops, and maybe a touch of brown sugar in the end. Mouthfeel is medium to thin and very drinkable. I would guess this beer is 7%, not 10.5. So so awesome. Wow. I love this beer, amazing.

Pours a hazy orange/amber color with a medium creamy white head that left lots of lacing. The aroma is bready, alcohol, musky hops and malts. The taste is prickly, with sweetness in the malts and some breadiness. There is some fruit flavors as well, possibly some apricot. The alcohol is noticeable, however, hidden pretty well. There is a slight hop kick and bitterness in this beer as well. Overall, a great beer that everyone should try at least once.

Pours a cloudy orange with an off white head. Classic yeast aroma with a sharp bitter taste.

slightly cloudy amber color; spicy, fruity aroma; a great Belgian ale - fruity Belgian yeast with spice notes; fairly bitter; dry, slightly sour fruit finish

Picked this bottle out of the fridge because its 10.5% & today was a heavy & dreary Monday & I think I could use a little alcohol hijacking before I lay my head down in defeat. Ninjas won’t be drinking this brew cuz you can hear it fizz & pop across the room as you pour it. Holy smokes is this a sugar bomb: I get dried apricot, screeching malts & a couple of shots of pure cane syrup. Booze is big & brashly like an uninvited party guest. This could be better.

11.2 oz. bottle from Pringles. Appearance: finger white head that lasts as a film, golden orange, clear, good lacing. Aroma: prune, molasses, fruity, cherry with light alcohol. Palate: medium body, average carbonation, alcohol thin texture, alcohol warming sensation. Taste: sweet prune, raisin, and maybe light cherry into a alcohol balancing with a warming sensation, light floral notes on tail end. Overall, very pleasant aroma, booze balances the sweetness well, pretty drinkable for ABV, very well put together.

i dig this one, though a little costly for the score, if that makes sense. Doughy aroma and flavor. Alcohol evident but not too hot. Flavor has a slight hop bite and yeastiness lacking in the nose. a little fruity too.

0,33l fles bij de gall vandaan. Amberkleurig met een witte kraag. Geur zoet, vruchten thee. Smaak is zoet met ijzer en aardbei. Body is minder dan gemiddeld.

Piraat came to me as part of a gifted Belgian beer pack. I usually avoid those things because the beers are mostly mediocre. This one is not exception. Nice amber color with a think frothy head, but just a hint of a chemical-like aroma. Taste is slightly bitter with no pleasant notes -- kind of like a strong macro beer. Not real terrible but definitely not something to seek out.
