Good balance of malt and hops, the oak is noticible as compared to the regular Arrogant Bastard. I like it.

12 oz bottle poured a dark orange brown with little head. Nice aroma. Taste is full and flavorful. I love the oak. It adds to an already great beer.

Nose of hardwood malt and pine. Flavor follows nose with sweet and hops up front. Good bitter back.

12 oz bottle, enjoy by 04/14/14.
Pours a clear deep red colour with about a half finger of off white head. Dissipated quickly. Subtle aroma with woody and fruity hop notes, lots of malty sweetness. Well balanced malt and bitterness. Not boozy, I could drink a few of these easily. Not much oak, some vanilla show up as it warms. A really good beer.
Nice bitternes on the finish.

I knew that I needed to have Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale from the moment I learned of its existence. With its woodsy, herbaceous hop profile, Arrogant Bastard is a perfect candidate for barrel aging. Stone did just that, and for good measure, the brewers threw in American oak chips. The end result is extraordinary. This ale smells amazing. Like Arrogant Bastard, it has an aroma of spruce and pine from the hops, but you can also pick up the oak. Aside from adding to the woodsiness, the oak makes the malts’ caramel note more pronounced. The taste is a nice departure from Arrogant Bastard, as well. The hops still have their characteristically herbal flavor, but their aggressiveness has been tamed by the aging. This allows the malt sweetness to come through a bit more, too. I can’t say that Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale is better than the traditional offering because that would be improving upon perfection. However, I can say that this offering is equally perfect.

Bottle. Thx Tim. Just like burton baton the plain oak aging kills the taste buds for me. Just not good
