Harvest Ale pours a nice clear golden color. Tons of bubbles shoot from the bottom to the top of the glass. A thin layer of head is poured. The smell on this beer is awesome. Fresh and I mean fresh pine and citrus backed by a small amount of caramel malt. Just a fantastic fresh smell. OK I think I mentioned it was fresh enough.
The taste on this beer matches the smell. I could easily drink this stuff all night long and if this wasn’t a seasonal beer this would be in my fridge at all times. When you find this beer, make sure to drink it as soon as possible. Fresher the better when it comes to this brew. The taste is full of citrus and a small amount of grapefruit. Piney with a nice earthy malt background. Bitter, clear, dry from start to finish. Crisp with perfect carbonation.

Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass. Appearance is hazy gold to copper with a thick head of white foam. Good head retention leaving some splotchy lacing. Aroma is spicy, citrus, and resinous. Taste is not overly great, but it is better than most I’ve come across.

Bottle pours golden with off white head. The aroma is fruity grapefruit and peach with a must. The taste is awesome, kinda reminds me of bells hopslam with out the honey. It is big and hoppy with various bitter citrus flavors mostly orange, some solid barley behind it and a little pine in the end. It isn’t much on sweetness but has a grainy fullness. Well carbonated it his the spot.

Wow, big thanks to JB84 for this one! Pours a golden colour with a nice big head on it. The aroma is all grapefruit. Really clean tasting. Tons of citrus, all hops. This beer is probably more than a month old and I think fresher it would be even better.

Pours a great golden color with a nice 1 finger white head. Aroma is of big citrus, grapefruit notes. Smells like a west coast IPA. The taste follows the nose. Very crisp and clean. Overall a fantastic IPA.

I may be a bit late in the season for this beer review. This beer has been cold since I bought it. The beer was served in a pint glass.
Ar- Very juicy aroma of lemon, orange, citrus zest going into pine and finishing with nice floral grassy notes.
Ap- Copper colored body. Nice thick white head with major retention. Thick lacing marks the glass.
T- The flavor is hop forward with resinous pine, citrus zest and grassy finish. Brief caramel malt sweetness gives way to bitterness.
P- Medium somewhat oily body nicely carbonated. Finish is bitter and moderate duration.
O- This is a brew I would have again. Very nicely executed.

This is quickly becoming my favorite fall beer! More like the Haufbrau House Oktoberfest, a traditional harvest ale, than any other American Oktoberfest I’ve tried. Well done Founders!

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2011 Bottle. 12 oz. Split with Tommy knocker. Pours golden blonde with a clear body and white, soft head. Aroma of pure, fresh juicy hop resin with tons of citrusy, piney, grassy notes in the back. Grassy, floral palate with a crisp, smooth, clean body and a slighty dry, midly bitter finish. So juicy and fresh tasting. Tons of citrus in the flavor. This kicks so much ass. Great IPA.
