A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2015 Hot, hot, hot aroma of bourbon, all kinds of chocolates, fudge, burnt sugar, and dark, roasted malts with coffee, vanilla, and wood undertones. It is powerful, yet somehow quite comforting. The taste obeys every aroma note and has a powerful, complex finish of strong roasted malts, caramel, and booze. I think the bourbon component definitely overpowered the coffee component in this one. The palate is, like that of all Founders stouts, wonderfully thick. This is a sipper, if there ever was one, although I could sit and sip this stuff all day long. In fact, I think I went through all the five stages upon realizing that my bottle had a finite amount of it. What a pants-sh*ttingly extraordinary beer. A stout man’s stout.

2016 bottle from Stone in Asagaya. Pours an oily black with a half finger of dark brown foam that dissipates quickly. Tons of cacao nib, roasted coffee and light vanilla in the nose. Some light wood on the palate with more cacao nib, espresso and lightly charred molasses. Light warming finish with some bourbon notes. Fairly dry. Great stuff.

Stoked to finally try. Strong vanilla and coffee flavours upfront. Finishes with some sweetness and oak. Really well balanced and hides the booze pretty well.

Truly not as amazing as expected. For the hype get epic BBB. Nose light vanilla. Lots of coffe notes little barrel or bourbon. I am guessingthey arerepeating barrels. Thick on tongue. Good beer but not incredible. Nice lasting head.

Coffee and tobacco aroma. Vanilla, sweet coffee, oak, wow great sweet imp stout. I can taste the bourbon a bit more. If you like sweet pleasant stouts with less bitterness and more booze and chocolate then this is it. You’re the man @lore Thanks!!!

Vintage 2014: Pours black oily color with big creamy long lasting light brown head, which transforms itself to a ring like by espresso coffee. Visually low carbonation. Aroma: big coffee note, dark chocolate, vanilla, leather, oak, dark fruits, dried fruits, bourbon, oak etc. Flavor: double espresso coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruits, especially plums, vanilla, molasses, hint of licorice, intense roasted coffee bitterness-astringency, oak- vanilla - tannins, bourbon...finish is dry, thick. Body is full, texture is creamy, super smooth, carbonation is low.

De la micro cervecera Founders(USA) esta Imperial Stout de nombre “Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS)” con 12.4% ABV y 70 IBU’s en nivel de amargor, una Imperial Stout o Russian Imperial Stout (RIS) compuesta con maltas tostadas de cebada, chocolate y café, madurada por todo un año en barricas de Bourbon para pulir bien el terminado e integrar todos los sabores, la receta de esta cervecera originaria de Grand Rapid’s, Michigan tiene la calificación en la pagina especializada en cerveza Ratebeer de 100/100 en estilo y 100/100 en general. En vista posee una corona de espuma mediana con perlas compactas y de ligera tonalidad canela, hay poca retención por la gran densidad del cuerpo y el contenido de ingredientes y alcohol, el liquido es de color obscuro opaco, no tiene destellos o tonalidades mas claras ya que no entra la luz, aspecto muy correcto al estilo. En aroma es muy evidente el aporte del envejecimiento en barricas ya que de inicio el aroma es muy amaderado, hay notas a café, chocolate, nuez y almendras, algo de aroma a pasas, licor como a jerez, muy compleja y agresiva. En el sabor igualmente se presenta el amaderado, mucho chocolate dulce, carácter a café, frutos secos como; almendras, nuez y ciruelas, hay dulzor a caramelo y azúcar morena, los 12.4% de alcohol son perceptibles en gusto y calidez en garganta, incluso el carácter de madera lo exalta, no hay acidez ya que el reposo pule y elimina dichos sabores, muy rica y potente, el retrogusto es pesado, achocolatado y dulce que se prolonga bastante.

Really dark brown color with creamy tan head. Aroma has warming bourbon, caramel, sweet malts, slight butterscotch but also a weird dirty rag note that I get with some sniffs. Taste starts with slightly astringent roasted malt, warning booze, slightly bitter roasted malt. Finishes with a bit of coffee bitterness but overall it’s a bit underwhelming considering the hype and also the body is not as heavy as I would like it to be.
