Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

Recommended serving temperature 16°C/61°F Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, and chocolate malt; Columbus, Chinook, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

23,5°P, 80 IBU, 10% ABV.

Editor’s note: Even though the label says "Barley Wine" in the States, the brewery usually says it’s brewed to be an IIPA. The American label was supposedly a glitch. In Europe it’s sold as an IIPA. But to save the admin crew some time dealing with user feedback, it’s listed as a Barley Wine.

Pours a deep, dark amber with a thick and frothy beige head. Very appealing and complex aroma, with raisin, licorice, plum, apple, caramel, pine, and some chocolate undertones. The fruity aspects stand out most here. The taste, while really not what I was expecting, is very good as well. It is quite roasted. Big on caramel, coffee, chocolate, and pine. I still get the darker fruits underneath these dominant flavors. Contains an impressive hoppy kick that is very much like an IPA. Aftertaste is caramel, coffee, and lots of pine. More of a medium body here with a texture that is sticky. Alcohol content becomes apparent quickly and settles in very nicely. This beer really is something else. It feels like a blend of different styles that are all made up extremely well. Each sip gives a different impression to me. And the transition from the nose to the taste is wonderful. If you want to impress your friends, make them try this one.

Bottle. Opaque ruby red with a moderately lasting off white head. Aroma of toffee, nut, orange peel, some spice, red fruits, pine. Taste is of toffee, orange, pine, honey, hint of spice, red fruit, strawberry, cherry, some heat from the alcohol on the finish. Really smooth, full bodied with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Lovely.

On tap. Fantastic brew, even as barley wine or double ipa. Almost black with a foamy tan head. Spicy, hops, nice bitterness. Almost don’t feel the high ABV it has. Really tasty and I can repeat gladly

WYGLĄD: Barwa ciemno miedziane, opalizujące. Piana drobna, szybko opada do niewielkiej wysokości.
AROMAT: Głównie karmelowa ziołowość, ale również jest suszona śliwka, ciemne owoce (jagoda, jeżyna)
SMAK: Słodowość, karmel i owoce (śliwka). Goryczka niska.
OGÓLNIE: Jedyne zastrzeżenie jakie mam do tego piwa to wyraźny alkohol w aromaci i smaku - nie ułożone/nie wyleżakowane.

(Nøgne Ø # 100 (Batch 100)) Bottle 500 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 10% Very dark brown colour on the body, turning a beautiful ruby red when hold against the light. Two full fingers of somewhat thin, tan head, with good retention though, leaving light lacing behind. Aroma has some citrus, grapefruit, light orange peel, orange cake. Nice bitter taste from the first moment it touches the tongue. Lots of hops, citrus, notable alcohol, oranges, orange cake, light vanilla, caramel, very tasty! Medium body, nicely carbonated. Yes it’s more of a DIPA, and very good at that.

Aroma has strong toffee, butterscotch, pine hops, and some booze heat. Very dark brown in color with an ivory head that clings to the glass strongly. Taste is exactly like the aroma, except it contains more hops. Just enough booziness to let you know that it’s 10%, but not too much. Great sipping barleywine. Not too sweet or too hoppy like some others I’ve tried. All around excellent. If you can find this, it’s a must buy.

Dark ruby Brown with a generous beige head that fades quickly. Dark Brown cassonade aromas with some tobacco. Médium carbonation, burnt toast with some caramel. Long warning finish. Not bad...

Bottle from cellarbrations super store hami hill. Pours a dark hazy brown with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, resin, oak, citrus and plum. Body is medium with low to moderate carbonation. Taste is quite citrusy and zesty and slightly oaky. It has some plum in there as well with hints of toffee and caramel and begins quite sweet on the palate then becomes quite bitter on the finish. Very good
